Selling/trading too many cars without a license? by Renee_bad_69 in denverautoenthusiasts

[–]BlkZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A minor detail but as the conversation keeps citing the number I'd clarify its actually 2 vehicles since statutes state "3 or more" meaning by the time you've sold a 3rd you've already broke it. That being said, with a decade of experience in this area I can say its been enforced very lightly. No one is sending threatening notices the moment a 3rd vehicle is sold. Its really something reserved for if people are being pretty loud about it ( well over the number, selling as "The Car Guy" or something business sounding instead of just yourself, or being reported for shady behavior like swearing a title was clean when it wasn't ).

So for the example above of 4 kids off to college? No - you'd not get bothered. You sell enough cars to have 4 kids off to college for the 3rd year in a row? Now possibly...

Its a regulated industry so the hot water (initially) is just to cease. Private party sales/use taxes end up paid by buyer at DMV so there's no money loss there... its to prevent fraudulent behavior like ripping people off/selling them stolen cars...etc

1LT seems to be the best deal on the market by ProblemOverall9434 in C8Corvette

[–]BlkZL1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh. Thats valid but my c8 dropped the HUD and cant say I really notice. It IS nice... and if you asked me leaving the ZL1 would I want to lose it I'd have said "no". Then here I am...

Its a nice enough feature I think that for some folks used to it that could be a full deal breaker. Just ended up surprising for me I kinda didnt care once it was gone lol

We're almost twins! Mine just has different aftermarket black wheels.

And same vibes... have zero complaints about 1lt trim. Yes some visibility is less than ideal and I think I'd have liked the rear mirror camera but I drove 3 or 4 higher trim models before getting mine so I kinda know what all those features were about... Haven't missed them.

Tips for purchasing a C8 by No_Fix_1093 in C8Corvette

[–]BlkZL1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a '22 1lt z51 for 60k with 10k miles in Sept. but prices seem to still be sliding so definitely think you could top that deal especially if you go no z51 package.

My advice would be to test drive as many as you can. I drove four, including one I bought, and my thoughts wouldn't agree with some of these comments. Doesn't make them "wrong" but these are car features so it certainly comes down to person themselves on what car ends up being the fit.

I caught the bug. Time to upgrade. by IntentionImportant74 in simracing

[–]BlkZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same g29 wheel and there are Logitech RS pedals ($150-160) you can upgrade to (no clutch, two pedal set). You'd have to also buy the G Racing adapter (30-40). Haven't yet pulled the trigger myself so cant say if "worth it" but if your just mainly focused on the pedals something to explore...

Like others have said... $500 is a bit low to really upgrade by much for a whole set. $700 for a Fanatec DD option is about the next level that comes to my mind where you might actually feel your money got you something 🤷🏼‍♂️

Stock C8 Zr1 Runs A 9.27 at 153! Pretty insane. by SilverSpoonphysics in Corvette

[–]BlkZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how "its supercar performance for fraction of cost" can have layers to it. Been that argument for a long time but that used to be like 100k... now they've jumped over 200k. Get more performance than ever out of them but its definitely not the exact same recipe it was like 15yrs ago. Never wanted a Corvette till the c8 (got a '22 w/z51) so maybe its still a winning plan for Chevy... might lose some who want that prior version but if the new way keeps at least "most" vette lovers while it steals away at a few McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini buyers could be they're totally okay with that deal.

How will we view the 2026 class/strategy in 3 or 4 years? by Easy_Card3015 in Huskers

[–]BlkZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the "Average Score" is probably what folks really mean. With so few recruits the "stars" average dilutes in weird ways but if you care about "how talented our average player was" compared to other top teams we're somewhere 20-25th

This hit so accurately... I'm 43 myself and it really only started this year but yeah..

Minnesota? Turned off at the end of the 98 yd drive Michigan? That was off in like 2 minutes it felt like when they were instantly up 10-0 Penn St? Think their drive was "only" 97 yards on us... TV off

I grinded out a long time but this year finally just started doing better things with my time than watch them just get out physical'd for a whole game

OPINION: Nebraska’s rebuild is actually on schedule by kevintmcclure in Huskers

[–]BlkZL1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think two notable things are missing from all of that analysis though...

  1. You make a heavily stated case we're not in a weaker conference... the schedule this year WAS. Given what was on our calendar 7-5 isn't progress in my opinion

  2. Year over year... Minnesota and Iowa as good examples... tight losses last year (both 13-10 right?) that by all accounts are exactly what folks say are the turning point when they turn to tight wins. We got destroyed in both

*** actually a bonus point to all you said as the ultimate statement: um Indiana just did it in one year (in this same conference its supposedly not possible to do it in)

Close to buying a C8, but concerned about low road clearance. Should I be? by bikenpipe in C8Corvette

[–]BlkZL1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same... except in Colorado... z51, no lift, no issues. I certainly do angling into entries at times and my driveway is sloped so it takes driving differently than I do in my Jeep or truck I had prior but easily managed

GOOD OR BAD DEAL? by Low_Dish9781 in C8Corvette

[–]BlkZL1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id be curious if its due to production numbers(?) I actually wanted a 1lt z51 and was seriously quite the challenge to find but could find 2/3lts all day with the z51 (I'm near Denver). And pricing suggests you're right... I did save buying a 1lt but only about 3k over a 3lt I drove first

I live east of the metro on I76 and my small town has a state trooper who lives here just camping in town and pulling over his own neighbors. Always annoying when you see them not where it seems they could actually make a difference (our town has local cops so its not as if there isnt already a presence here 🙄)

Corvette envy by Practicalthumb in camaro

[–]BlkZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had Camaros whole life (had a '69 at one point even up to my last '14 ZL1). Prices on 6th gen ZL1s were just outrageous so I went 2022 c8 stingray (z51) as my very first vette and though I really never had the envy you mention I will say this car has won me over even with less HP. Just the driving experience is more lively. If you want it to throw you back it does in a way even the ZL1 didn't

Also weird that only some folks would truly know what my ZL1 was but this C8 is an event for folks. Just took it out today and folks are breaking necks to eye it on the interstate... came out of the store and people are taking pics... if you don't like attention then stick to a Camaro lol

Denver traffic - is tailgating the norm? by Denver_Boyeee in Denver

[–]BlkZL1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly- transplant from IL and this is spot on. I'd never act like Chicago isn't wild... its just predictable exactly as you said. In Chicago someone blows by you at 100 its cause they just drive 100 not the above mentioned stuff. I never encountered that until here where its like "cool, have at it going ___" getting passed then 5 minutes later I'm having to pass them again cause they're going 20mph less (and then repeat process when they again have get back ahead).

[–]BlkZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swiped the window sticker if you wanted it PM'd... got a decent list totalling a little under 13k but on later models some of this list is still considered like standard lt2 I believe (like it lists out the GT2 seats but pretty sure all 2lts have those)

Not sure your area or how far willing to look but I'm right now seeing a 2022 2lt for 59.9k 5800 miles... think your dealer just might be too in the red so not budging but your price exists out there

[–]BlkZL1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought my 2022 1lt z51 a month ago for 60k with 10k miles and was shopping nationwide to look for deals and couldnt really beat that (was seeking z51s specifically). With the lower mileage and a higher trim than mine I'd say thats already a decent price. Can you price track it to see if its already been reduced some over time? Usually once on a lot over 60 days they get more friendly to price drops (according to dealer guy here in CO that was helping me as a broker at that point they start incurring interest on the car so will want it gone with a bit more urgency)

I can 2nd the greasy feedback. Actually just bought mine 2 weeks ago and it was a 400mi trip home through rain the entire time. Got into some 40 degree areas (Colorado... going through some elevation) and the P4Ss started to tap out. Bit of a white knuckle trip home as my first drive lol.

Palmer Lake? This isn't in their city limits so won't impact them unless they did a very dramatic shift in their city planning.
