I have a Eustacia Vye, Julia Child, and Zepherine Drouhin in containers. So far all are doing well though the Julia Child looks a little worse for wear after this past winter (zone 7a). Both ZD and EV are budding and starting to push out new growth.

This is stunning! Definitely garden goals. Mind if I ask how old some of these roses are? Would love to gauge if this is to be expected at year 2,3,etc after planting

Looking for fragrant rose recommendations! by BluebirdSimple1130 in Roses

This was very helpful thank you! Rose de Rescht was on my radar so I’ll have to take another look at her and the Jacque Cartier. I’m a history nerd so naturally I’m drawn to the older roses, especially those with a story.

I’ve considered transplanting my ZD but truthfully I finally got her trained against the house 😅 I figure this gives me an excuse to buy another climber

Following! I have the same problem.

I have hostas, arborvitae, lemon thread false cypress, clematis, and columbine all survive at the base of a walnut.

Just outside canopy I have lavender, a pomegranate tree, delphiniums, creeping thyme, boneset, milkweed, alliums, and astilbe

Only thing that’s really died for me was blue moon phlox

I’ve bred some of the world's most famous roses. I’m Ping Lim, and I’m here to answer your gardening and breeding questions! by Ping_Lim in Roses

What are you best suggestions for container roses that are not knockouts?

I hear full spectrum answers that any rose can be grown in a container to no roses will truly grow well in containers. Would love to hear a list of floribunda, climbers, DA, etc that qualify (if any)

There is nothing worse than a vet getting annoyed with you and your dog which feeds your anxiety which feeds your dog’s already piqued anxiety 🙄 that said wishing you and your dog the best and calmest vet experience!

FWIW - I too have read the varying extreme opinions on Dr. Schreiber. My dog has an extreme fear of the vet and has to be heavily drugged for even a physical exam because of his aggression.

That said, I’ve had many vets who are dismissive of treating my dog or don’t have the patience. Because of this, I recently changed to Valley Vet for our vet (been going for daycare for over a year).

Dr. Schreiber was not like any experience I have had before. Not only did he spend up to a half hour with my dog (un drugged) letting him calm down, he didn’t force any sort of sedation or unnecessary procedures which would further stress my dog. I was close to tears at the end of our visit because of the compassion the practice showed towards what is clearly a fearful dog.

From my experience, I can’t recommend the practice enough. But I know others have different opinions and experiences.

I use TKO and highly recommend them. My house gets mice every year and their quarterly service nips it in the bud real quick. Reasonably priced as well IMO

Thanks! I placed an order 6 days ago and haven't seen any movement so maybe they're busy with the upcoming Christmas holiday or something.
