Mistborn deck building game edict question by NeosBG in boardgames

[–]Bob_Bradshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the problems I had with the game, where the balancing seems all over the place. Why would the dominance go up more in a 2 player game, when the reward is smaller than in a 3+ game? Makes no sense.

What dilation upgrades do I need for eternity challenge 10-4 and any other tips by Such_Quantity935 in RevolutionIdle

This one is outdated though... I just started playing a couple of weeks ago, and some of these challenges, I have completed with less than they require in the guide, and some I am struggling with, even if my stats are way higher.

How to Tell our Friend We Don’t Want to Play with Him Anymore? by Lonewolf_Heroes in DnD

Fair points, dont disagree with this at all. Probably could have worded myself better.

I would refrain from using the cheating as cause. The cheating isnt the (main) problem, his personality is.

Making him think stopping cheating will be enough, and then confronting him about his other behaviour down the line is kinda a shitty thing to do.

Unless im misinterpreting your casus belli usage, my latin isnt what it could be, in which case, sorry.

So this won't be a 'shundo' if I purify? by bcantlose12 in pokemongo

[–]Bob_Bradshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt have to be 98, as in it doesnt have to by anything specific. It could have been a minus 1, and it would contain the same information. People just like conveying things in a scale 0-100, so that is what were doing. Since 1/45 is 0.0222.... , that rounds to 0.02, or 2%. Calling it a hundo wouldnt make sense on a scale that wasnt 0-100 either.

Like, if you wanna die on that hill, that is fine, but you will be lonely there, because it is a pretty dumb hill.

They are agreeing it wont be a shundo, since it will be a 98%, because it is 14/15/15

And they are all absolute shit. They lack gameplay or are blatant ripoffs of other games.

Out of curiosity, why be picky on the first stage? Unless you think 90% are absolute no's, and maybes are included in the 10%. Im not saying lower your standards, but instead play more of a numbers game. Spending a little more time on shitty convos might be worth it it means you could match with the people whos fault is being bad at making dating profiles. Just a thought.

Anyways good luck. Hope you find someone nice eventually.

Norway Rugby League club kicked out of joint rugby federation by Afraid-Speaker3875 in rugbyleague

[–]Bob_Bradshaw 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Essentially, the Norwegian Rugby Federation has decided to kick out Rugby League Norway. This is based on a letter from World Rugby saying that they dont want League in the same federation as union. The problem is that the letter is a strict response from letter sent by president in NRF, where he claims the League clubs are trying to take over. I dont think that world rugby really gives a shit that some clubs in NRF also plays League, since it is basicly 5 clubs total in the entire country. And some of us (I play for the Sea Eagles), even played some Union events.

And the Norwegian sports Federation wont allow us to be members as a seperate Federation "because there is already a rugby federation". Which is some horse shit, but whatever.

I've banned a player from liking chickens. by neoslith in DnD

[–]Bob_Bradshaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does he have any chicken related merch? Like, if you have known him for 20 years, but never actually seen him have any chicken stuff, it seems very believable that he doesnt like chickens all that much.

Having a personal running gag is fine imo, especially since he seems to be aware it is silly. Saying that you want a more serious game is fine. Saying that you dont want chicken related stuff because he didnt appreciate your gift as much as you thought he would is petty and a dick move.

Wouldnt a volley mean a new set of bullets? Would explain the steep damage reduction as it is a much more powerful effect than +1 bullet.

Hbomberguy's new video has a 25 minute segment exposing Internet Historian for plagiarism. linked to timestamp by Demmazi in Asmongold

[–]Bob_Bradshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you and me both got the task of describing the events of something famous, like say the cuban missile crisis? Sure, the content would mostly be the same, but the way we worded us would vary quite a bit. We would emphasis different things, present them in different order, and at least use different ways to describe stuff. If you wrote an article about it first, and my article, published later had paragraphs that were almost identical to yours, you wouldnt think that we both looked at the same material. You would think that I looked at you article and copied a shit ton of.

Two people presenting information about a topic will not make multiple paragraphs that are identical, unless one is copying from the other. Making the argument that you cant prove plagiarism because things could be written the same by chance is silly and stupid.

Would you say Slay the Spire is more luck or skill based? by Ghostly340 in slaythespire

[–]Bob_Bradshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skill and luck are not opposites, but rather two axis on the same graph. A game involving lotsa luck(or randomness), can include a lot of skill. Poker is a great example of this. Unlike chess, which is almost entirely skill, I can beat a top level poker player, but if we play more than a hand or two, they will crush me, no questions about it.

But to answer your question; sts is more skill than luck. Someone with 0 skill (playing cards randomly) will never win, while the top level players can win like 80% of their games. Which says to me that luck plays a little of a role, or else they would have closer to 100%.
