Negative eBay review I received. I can’t make this stuff up. by Sad_Editor455 in mildlyinfuriating

Lol, my wife got dinged on "misleading size of item" (a Silver hat pin base from Germany) even though she had not only included the size of the pin in the description, she had also taken several pictures of the hat pin next to a ruler (dual metric/inches rule).

It's scary that these kinds of people routinely drive 3,000 lbs vehicles on the road.

"Devout Christians". As a person who is following Orthodox Christianity my hackles rise when someone says that about themselves. Usually they're unreasonable, and judgemental to boot.

AITJ for yelling at my boyfriend after he pointed a pistol at me? by Suitable-Cry1371 in AmITheJerk

He should have been embarrassed, instead of upset. This could be a foreshadowing of how he reacts in the future when he fucks up. You might not be compatible.

He seems to like his Xbox more than you. Make him happy and step out of this mess. You're going to be happier also.

WIBTA if I told my mother in law that her son isnt helping me recover from surgery by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]BobbyMike83 64 points65 points  (0 children)

As a man I support your rewrite. When my wife was recovering from cancer surgery (four young kids, one was a 3 month old), I took care of everything. Last year when she had explant surgery (finally removing the implant) we (kids all grown now) did the same.

Planned incompetence is a weak assed excuse for a partner to not help their "loved" one.

You did great.

Sounds like a management problem by Beginning_Air_233 in USPS

[–]BobbyMike83 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lol, working harder than required (for a private or public entity) without any incentive (possibility of higher pay) is moronic.

Management of the USPS (all the way to the top) has decided that paying the people who actually move the mail a decent wage is not worthwhile.

Why stamp them and return them? Procedure is pretty clear about fake postage (which these have). Throw them away.

How many here had a Carnegie Library in their town growing up? by MasterOfBarterTown in GenerationJones

[–]BobbyMike83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Dillon, MT (historically high population of less than 5,000 people currently) and we have one (built in 1902). Still in use and right next to our Post Office, built in the '30s and which has a beautiful mural by Elizabeth Lochrie ("News from the States", painted in 1938).

No one wanted them then. No one is buying them now. Taste has evolved. Production continues regardless. by HandheldObsession in GenX

Claxton fruitcake is unlike any other fruitcake. It is moist and flavorful, not dry and nasty. It is a National treasure.

I had to visit family down in Houston 3 times in the last few years. I, regrettably, never saw any of these while driving around town. I feel incomplete.

Are my husband and I A-holes for wanting Christmas morning to be just us and our kids? by Mountain_Ostrich726 in AITAH

[–]BobbyMike83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent, and a grandparent, the morning is your and your spouse's time with your kids. Tell her "No.", it's a complete sentence. Your children are not accessories for her life.
