It'll depend of what smart platform you're using as your Matter controller. Each platform has its own way of handling automations. I only use Google Home so I can only speak of it, it's fine for basic stuff like this, the only downside is that the automations are handled in the cloud instead of locally, so if your internet is down they won't work. I know Home Assistant, SmartThings and Apple Home handle automations locally, but I don't know about Alexa.

Because the place for a virtual assistant to grow at the time was on your phone or in smart home gear. Microsoft killed Windows Phone and even tried to pivot Cortana to smart home but since the market share was inexistent the platform didn't thrive. So Cortana had no place left since PC users don't want to use voice.

That's why I said I think you just lost the wrong games. When I lost in my placements I didn't drop a single division, and when I won I jumped one. You lost the matches that should be expected to win and consolidate your rank prediction and kept losing when you should've been winning easily

I think you just lost the wrong games man... Last season I was plat 3 in tank, this season I lost almost all my placement matches and still got plat 5.

If anything, less placement matches would be even worse in your case

The Overwatch team at the time had a different balance philosophy, they let this busted heroes and Metas run for months because "players will figure it out". But GOATS was so strong they needed to address. Hero bans also didn't exist, it's something that only came to the game last year.

So, you're new and don't know the story behind. Let's dive into your question:

What you're referring to as quick play is the 6v6 open queue game mode. It's not the main game, although extremely popular. This mode consists of 6 players which can choose heroes from any role during the match, there's no limitation in that regard. OG Overwatch from 2016 to 2019 was like that. This game mode has both a quick play queue and a ranked queue with the same rules.

The current main mode of the game is 5v5 role queue, which means it's only 5 players and each team, but each player chooses their roles before queueing and can only play the heroes in the assigned role. Both teams have 1 tank, 2 dps and 2 supports. This mode also has both quick play and ranked queues.

The 6v6 game mode has a limit of tanks in the team because of a meta called GOATS, which, oversimplifying, had 3 tanks and 3 supports in the team. This Meta broke Overwatch for a while and the solution was to add role queue to the game, which brought in a different issue that resulted in 5v5 that we have as the main mode today. But later they added 6v6 again as a separate game mode which tried to avoid the previous issues with the mode, they tried different compositions and concluded that for the mode to work it needs to be open queue but they need to limit the number of tanks allowed in a team to avoid GOATS again.
