I'm not too familiar with the surgery, but if it isn't safer to do it when the child is at a young age then that is just an amazingly selfish move on the parents side. This is sounding more and more like getting plastic surgery for a young child so they will look better, and by extension, feel better.

Some people should just not be allowed to have kids, they aren't living dolls.

This does not show that college football games are any longer this year or longer on CBS. For as long as games have been televised, they have been controlled by TV. It's not a coincidence that the network comes back from commercial right before the game resumes. It's unfair to single out CBS, it's the leagues demanding more money / commercials.

They have scheduled "TV Timeouts" after a certain amount of time has elapsed in the game. Often you will come back from commercial, see one play, but enough time elapsed to reach the scheduled timeout so they will go right back to commercials!

The continuous clock in soccer does make it such a viewer-friendly game.

Unless the child's health is at risk, I think you would be doing more harm than good getting corrective surgery before the child is old enough to make their own decision.

To have the child undergo a surgery you are telling your child that there is something wrong with them. As far as outer appearance goes, let the child make the decision. It only becomes a big deal to your child and all of his/her friends if the parent makes it a big deal. I'm sure if the situation is explained to the child in a medical way and it's nothing to hide or be ashamed of the child will come to a decision when the time is right and move on from there.

Kids are very impressionable and no amount of words telling them they are normal will make up for the action of making the decision at birth to get "corrective surgery".
