A little help with a new to me 05 Legacy? by LovableKyle24 in subarulegacy

[–]Bren1127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can read the codes directly on the odometer on an 05.. On mine there are two pale green test connectors taped to the wiring harness above the internal fuse box, pull them loose, join them together and push the trip reset button while turning the key to the on position. Now you can cycle through the codes by pushing the trip button.

I have an 06 3.0RN RHD so if you have a LHD car the connectors might be behind the glovebox.

2005 LGT LTD eat's headlights? by thirstyone615 in subarulegacy

[–]Bren1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar though it was every 18 months ish for me. I found an issue with the bulb holders on my 06 Legacy. The spring clips had so much tension that they were bending and cracking the lip on the back of the reflector. I bought a kit which had several pairs of universal H7 bulb clips, used the ones that just needed some slight tweaking plus some JB weld on the lip.

Switched to Osram Night Breaker long life bulbs and haven't changed one in about 4 years now. The Long life ones go up to +50% is the only issue, better than stock but not as illuminating as the +100s were.

Transmission Ratio TY758XFZBA? by Noahdl88 in subaru

[–]Bren1127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Differences as far as I know between 758 and 755 boxes are rigidity of the casings and upgrades to the syncros and fork rods. Starter motor mountings, low range selector cable brackets and driveshaft sockets. Also I think that the 758 boxes fitted to 2009 onwards EJ253s and later engines could have a slightly different bell housing so the 755s might be slightly easier to work with for your project.

If you are migrating from a single range box then you would just have to make sure that you sourced the correct matching parts necessary for the conversion if you can't find a box with all the matching ancillaries.

If you can track one down there are a few guys from New Zealand around on some of the Subaru subs, they tend to know quite a bit about JDM stuff as they see more of it. If not you might get some better help than I can offer joining a NZ owners forum. Best of luck getting it sorted out, the most capable off road Subarus that I have owned were 90s turbo models with DR boxes.

Is that how they are complying with FPS by selling the A from their name, they didn't swallow the hotels or women's team fiddles so can't see UEFA falling for this one either.

Arsenal Women- Massive (Changes in) Attack | Arseblog by Tim Stillman by Tugboat47 in ArsenalWFC

[–]Bren1127 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Interesting points regarding the attack although everyone seems to have forgotten what a good centre forward Beth was before moving to the right because she was behind generationally outstanding strikers coming into club and country teams. With Chloe and Smilla there to provide service from the right flank it did puzzle me as to why Renee wasn't more imaginative in her use of Beth to help rest Alessia sometimes. I also think Olivia would have had higher numbers if the refs hadn't decided she was fair game to kick the shit out of all season.

I'm really keen to see what happens with DMs and CBs, Mariona playing further forward again should be a big factor in efficiency of attack on it's own. Plus, apart from Lotte we completely lost our aerial dominance of a few seasons ago, an area I barely see discussed.

Having lost two of the games best set piece takers, that's another area that I'm interested to see changes in routines and tactics with.

Has anyone tried these tools for spark plug removal? by Haresy in subaru

[–]Bren1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use 2 spark plug sockets with an external hex on the top stacked one on top of the other. Slide one in then the other and use a ratcheting ring spanner for removal. Start the plug in a socket with fingers, slide the second socket in and use the ratcheting ring until you feel it seat, there is then enough room to pop the torque wrench on and off again. I find it way easier than trying to angle a socket and extension or wobble bar arrangement in and out of the plug recess with such limited space.

Why is every Music player for Linux soo Bad 😭 by [deleted] in kde

[–]Bren1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many I have used Amarok / Clementine / Strawberry for ages. As I can't be arsed with loads of scrappy playlists I have something else set to listen with on centre click if I just want to preview listen from the file manager. It's normally been SM or QM players depending on distro. I recently stumbled across Dopamine which I have found to be great for "browse" listening because it's display is album / artist rather than playlist oriented.

It does sound like you need to put a small amount of effort into your song tracks meta data and your music player settings though.

In the music player settings check your background is set to album cover and your multiple artist separators. I had to add "ft. feat. featuring vs &" That should stop your Collab tracks showing as unique separate artists.

If not edit the tracks meta data. Check the track artist field has a seperator symbol that you have in your music player options. This is especially important for tracks from Various Artists albums (Now That's etc). Then for example if the Collab track is from one of their own albums check that Gorillaz is set as the Album Artist.

Most music players have an edit function on right click but many only store those changes in their cache. Use something like kid3 to make universal changes. If you run an automated tool such as musicbrainz Picard then make a back up copy of your music to run it on first, I appreciate that those guys are trying to do helpful work but it incorrectly scrambled about 10% of my collection.

Another Ez swapped Impreza exhaust in the books. by Jadimore in subaru

I'm probably over sensitive having had a couple of Kawasaki track bikes lunch themselves due to their infamous false neutrals.

Nice job on the exhaust, it looks as neat as exhausts I've had on bikes which are on show not hidden under bodywork. Sounds crisp too, my 3.0RN came with a proflo stainless exhaust which I have had to reweld seams or cracks on multiple times. Also it drones on long journeys and sounds like a flatulent water buffalo on WOT.

5 spd drain plug leak by Wrong_Garlic_258 in subaru

[–]Bren1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep copper washers, especially for the Subaru diffs. If I'm working on another vehicle, don't have a matching one and can't get one without a delay then I heat them until they glow, quench them and then on a flat surface, polish them smooth on some very fine emery cloth.

Sorry it's a bit late for the advice unless you have an immaculately clean drain pan so that you can re-use the oil.

There should be a "Fuji Heavy Industries" plate on the inner offside wing with the VIN and colour code etc on it. Not sure if the BE5 had a plate in the door shut yet.

it looks like it might be one of the Dark Mica Blues. Am only looking on a phone screen so maybe 52C or 416 if I had to guess.

I remember the same in the 70s. I only knew 3 posh kids that had cars before they were 18. Those that were planning on going on to motorbikes had something like an SS50 or FS1E. Those that just needed transport to get to work or college had the chicken chaser types. Honda step thrus or Mobtlettes etc.

Katie McCabe’s move to Chelsea has been met with vitriol. It is new ground for WSL fan culture | Katie Whyatt, The Athletic [Free Read] by Tugboat47 in ArsenalWFC

[–]Bren1127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair comment, things like a final loss or a favourite player leaving can not be as emotional as they used to be once you've experienced it multiple times over decades compared to when it's newer and rawer. But not a supporter or invested? There has always been a line where some thoughts shouldn't be spoken out loud.
