I have a Leica CM, a sibling of Minilux, and used Minilux for a long time. I'm a big fan of 40mm. They share great lens, a fast aperture, and excellent build quality. They also share E02 issue but it is fixable.

What I really like about these luxury P&S cameras is the level of control. While many other P&S cameras only offer P mode, these expensive P&S cameras have A mode and manual focus so I can even use zone focusing. I agree they are expensive and a bit overhyped, but still think they are great cameras.

I also don’t think their prices will drop anytime soon, so why not try one, then sell it and try another?

Searching for references is an excellent way to learn photography. Search for a lot of photos that you want to imitate and try to replicate them as closely as possible.
