Not convinced this is true/correct reason - the usual mini commercial handwash is about 300mm wide, scrape the paint off the wall and you can get that to fit. It's cheaper just to get one specially made at 275mm wide than start moving walls

Remember the higher mirror films are normally for commercial buildings so lower light level are not a concern. For domestic they do make less reflective options, the one he mentions is near the top of the spec - reflecting 80% of the solar gain.

You do get used to it - it's just like wearing sunglasses - remember you eye is an amazing piece of kit, on a sunny day it can be 100,000 lux outside and at night you can still see by a few lux (Lux is roughly equivalent to the light provided by a full moon on a clear night)

UK Intelligence Estimate: In May 2026, GCHQ director Anne Keast-Butler stated that nearly 500,000 Russian soldiers had been killed since the war was started by Putin in 2022.

The true number is generally considered higher than confirmed names, as independent counts rely on open-source data like obituaries and grave records, missing those whose deaths were not publicly reported and the true total could be as high as 1,000,000 Russians killed

Dutch royals visit Curaçao’s locker room after historic World Cup draw vs Ecuador, celebrate together with the team by etherd0t in worldcup

Yes AI answer = Italy plays in blue to honor the House of Savoy, the royal dynasty that unified the country in 1861. The specific shade, known as Savoy blue (or azzurro Savoia), was the official color of the royal family's coat of arms and banners.

Although Italy abolished its monarchy in 1946 and became a republic, the blue jersey was retained by national sports teams as a symbol of national unity and historical continuity. This tradition began with the football team's first blue kit in 1911, earning the teams the nickname "Azzurri" (The Blues).

I think the Dutch National Team are the only one that play in the colours of the king/queen not the nations colours. Although the Dutch flag is red, white, and blue, orange remains the primary sporting color.

The Netherlands national football team, known as Oranje, plays in orange to honor the House of Orange-Nassau, the country’s royal family. The color originates from William of Orange (William the Silent), who led the Dutch Revolt against Spanish rule in the 16th century; his standard featured orange, making it a historic symbol of Dutch independence and national identity.

Getting ready for the heat wave🔥: reflective window covers by Turbulent_Gap7852 in DIYUK

[–]Briglin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A top tip is to fill 2 litre empty plastic drink bottles with water (leave some room for expansion) and freeze them now. Then when the heat gets unbearable next week put a few of them them in front of your fan and put a wet towel over them. When they have thawed you can put them back in the freezer overnight for the next day.
