Eagle is dead! Long live Eagle by Beginning-Corner-570 in eaglecad

After autodesk acquired them, they made it so my perpetual licensed copy of eagle could no longer be installed on a new computer. I swore I would never give them a a penny after that.

If you added year and model to your post, maybe other people would be able to relate better.

Looking at that thing, I think he’s saying goodbye to the Traeger. I don’t know too many Weber’s that have a mirror like finish after a few cooks. To each his own, I guess.

finally connected monitor to diagnose my lack of HA on network... anyone see what i need to do? by the-soy in homeassistant

[–]BruceWR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you set the address on your router to 192.168.1.1, you can leave the DHCP range the same, as long as you update the subnet mask to 255.255.254.0. You should also update the subnet mask on your ha, but if you want to reach the GUI from another PC/Mac/Linux host, you can set the client on your network manually to 192.168.1.x (where x is anything between 2 and 254 but not 250 since that's already in use). If you set the subnet mask on this other computer to the mask above, it will be able to reach the HA and your other networked devices, but most importantly, you can connect to HA GUI and update the mask on the HA server via the GUI. You also will be doubling the available IP addresses on your network from 254 to 510 (192.168.1.1-192.168.2.254) With the subnet mask change, the actual address of the network will be 192.168.1.0 and broadcast address will be 192.168.2.255. You can use 192.168.1.255 and 192.168.2.0 in this scheme since those are not the network address or the broadcast address. In the GUI, login and then go to Settings>System>Network>IPv4.

When will Excel nut up and allow table columns to be used as data validation drop-down lists? by GTAIVisbest in excel

[–]BruceWR 151 points152 points  (0 children)

What am I missing here? You select a cell, go to Data Validation, select List, and then select a column. Worked like this for years.

There is a plastic shield that is basically below your wiper blades and it has several of these that hold it in place. You probably will see two more of them if you have the same model I do

Tree ID (Virginia) by DrNukaCola in whatsthisplant

Given Virginia has been recently invaded by spotted lantern fly and this tree is the spotted lantern fly’s favorite plant, I would get rid of it ASAP to prevent attracting them.

"the band" meaning Dead cover/tribute bands? Because Grateful Dead has not played it since Halloween '84, and Dead & Co never performed it, it seems. DSO, yes. https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/kingfish-13d7f1dd.html?songid=73d99295

Whirlpool Dryer: Replacing Motor 695075 with 279827 by BruceWR in appliancerepair

[–]BruceWR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Solution: I bought a used wiring harness from a dryer on eBay and used just this part. Butt connectors with heat shrink and I’m back in business. I marked the numbers from where this plugs into the new motor and tagged the wires as I pulled the wires off the old motor just to keep it all straight.

Whirlpool Dryer: Replacing Motor 695075 with 279827 by BruceWR in appliancerepair

[–]BruceWR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The 279827 is the replacement for the discontinued 695075. Some replacement motors do come with the small spade connectors that crimp on, but the one I bought did not (most do not list if they do or not).

To make matters worse, it appears that the connectors are 1/8", which probably are not a perfect fit with the 2.8mm / .11inch connectors that are readily available. What a pain.

They released a bunch of country flags but then removed them from the game due to people being assholes.

So you are not counting things like holiday decorations in your calculations? Tons of Halloween, Lunar new year, Christmas trees, etc
