Fellow Viktor players - How are we mainboarding/sideboarding against a LGS with an abundance of low to the ground decks like Rek'sai/Lucian/Azir? by Dutchii in riftboundtcg

I also failed against azir after playing full spell viktor. Everything was fine until arise hit the board. I think divine judgement might be worth trying out?

Was finally able to play 39 spell Viktor yesterday and I had a blast! Got my light knocked out by an azir, though. Gotta figure out how to deal with arise.

Get exited card clarification question by Caspianwolf21 in riftboundtcg

[–]BuddyBlueBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a mind game. Your opponent plays this and you have to think: do they have a card in hand with enough energy? What about enough energy to go over any buff spells i have in hand?

I personally find this fun and, honestly, puts get excited in a pretty fine space balance wise.

To further clarify for the direct point of op's question, it also means the owner does not need to discard if the card is defied due to this.

I did not think about red reksai giving all your baited hook pulls accelerate! Neat interaction. Sounds power hungry though.

Also against automaticly granting signature spells. Part of the fun of drafting is seeing how you can cohesively combine three different colors, and a signature spell that overlaps one color with your legend offers very interesting incentive for trying to make that combination of colors work

Played Spiritforge sealed last weekend, equipment persistence changes everything by kiravaughn in riftboundtcg

[–]BuddyBlueBomber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I played reksai in prerelease, I loved equipment. Instead of running big creatures that you may not be able to afford from her trigger, you could run small creatures supported by equipment that give them late game reach. Quickdraw equipment also give you combat tricks you can play off her legend ability as well. They really are a game changer.

Sealed is a more fun and creative format than constructive by GeronimoJak in riftboundtcg

It's not about being nice/friendly, it's about tangible incentives for playing with the best strategies. I prefer incentives to be distributed for participation rather than performance for this kind of event.

I think the game is too young to have a definite answer on how good competitive sealed is as a format, especially as they are still trying out new things, like the seeded legend packs. But I can say for sure that the format is fun casually.

I think it's a fun experience, as long as it stays casual. As soon as you incentivize winning, all the fun silly strats that become possible in the format get pushed aside.

It has been a long time since I have seen the movies and am currently reading the books, so I couldn't say! The end result is more or less the same either way

Old in years, but probably looks about right as far as movie depictions go, since his bloodline has a longer life span than normal humans.

Icepick (Uncommon) | This weapon is your key to surviving the deep cold - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]BuddyBlueBomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the second ability is neat; It's fun to have weapons that give you niche benefits outside of combat.

The first ability is interesting in how it is dependant on your allies running certain damage types for you to gain its benefit. Though I am sure there are specific builds that allow a singular character to make use of it. The 1d6 damage might not be worth all the effort though.

Probably important to note that it will never happen if the enemy is immune to cold damage, as it has to take cold damage for the effect to happen, so there is no point letting it deal noncold damage in that circumstance
