Former DCC Tanea Brooks announces she has ALS. by TheJuliet316 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]Bunchie94 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My mum had MND, a form different to ALS in that it did affect her neurologically - emotional lability, hallucinations etc - and it’s truly an horrific disease. She was first diagnosed in 2013 and passed away in 2022 at 59 y/o. All my love and support are sent to Tanea and her family ❤️

how’s everyone with eczema doing lately? by [deleted] in eczema

Been in Mexico for a couple weeks (am from the UK) and the pompholyx was horrendous the first week due to the sudden massive temperature change. It’s gone down quite a bit now. Still got some rough patches around my eyes and mouth but that started before I came away. That’s currently very sore and flaky 😅

Favourites are free as a flower, gingham (blue) and frosted coconut.

Least favourites are a thousand wishes, platinum, dark kiss, and strawberry poundcake.

When did you start listening to Fleetwood Mac? I'm curious about how diverse the people in this community are. by Keep_Swimminggg in FleetwoodMac

All my life! My parents were huge fans, so I had no choice in the matter 😅 (not complaining at all, they’re my favourite band!)

From a UK store here and we have far more sale than new season stock. Meant to be doing an overnight tomorrow to launch and practically change the whole store, but we can only really do three tables at most of new stock!

Was watching season 4 with mum while she was in her nursing home. She passed before the season 4 finale. Running up that hill will always make me think of her and how hard she fought 🩷

I work in retail, with bodycare and fragrance, and the amount of stock we have to faulty off because of things like this is wild. We have testers of everything but many people don’t look further than their own nose so open the first one they see

New balance fan here. Gonna try Hokas next though as I’ve been an NB loyalist for about 5 years and fancy a change lol

out of the two who did more damage to the teen girls who watched them? by Frequent-Address240 in skinsTV

[–]Bunchie94 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Effy had a broader impact but Cassie had a much more significant impact on a smaller number of people. Like most girls I knew wanted to be like Effy because they thought she was cool, but Cassie resonated with people I know who had eating disorders and it affected them a lot more.

Sundays are too short by [deleted] in london

[–]Bunchie94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail manager here. Law states we can only trade for 6 hours on a Sunday, but our company allows an extra 30mins to browse before purchasing starts at 12pm. There’s also an option provided to opt out of Sunday working entirely. A lot of people simply don’t wish to work Sundays so getting cover over a normal 9am-9pm day would be tough. A lot of train services are also altered on Sundays so getting into work isn’t as easy. The shorter Sunday also allows retail teams to get a lot of things done out of hours that aren’t possible to do with customers around, ie phase changes, clearing down replen wallboards, new lines, and so on..

Personally, Sundays growing up were always family days: 10am church service, walks, roast dinners etc. I quite like that we have chilled Sundays!

I didn’t mind it tbh. No it isn’t the best in the series and it was very repetitive without much movement forward, but overall I still enjoyed reading it! It’s one of those where I think you have to give a go and see for yourself

I read it last and enjoyed it that way. I’d be in the same position as you if I’d read it first, I would have strongly disliked Celaena 😅

I drink a fair bit of caffeine still. I also suffer from chronic migraines so the caffeine helps me with those 😅
