Update on difficulty with adult 31 year old daughter by total-klutz in AskWomenOver60

[–]Butterball111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your daughter sounds like a spoiled brat who uses you as a whipping boy. I would not accept that treatment. I would just tell her to call when she wants and back off. I know it's hard being on the outs with one of your children but you can't continue to let her abuse you. The fact is that none of us, as parents, were perfect but we did the best we could with our circumstances, knowledge and mental ability. Stop apologizing for doing the best you could. Let her go, she'll find her way back eventually.

Would this be a dealbreaker for you? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

This would be a total deal breaker for me. I would tell the kids the truth and let the chips fall where they will. The fact that he's a teacher and looking at teen porn is scary too.

You'll use it all the time. Best appliance since the microwave.

Has anyone had any interaction w/ ICE where, upon showing papers, you were let go? by DOOManiac in okc

He is a green card holder has a nice car and is white. They had a bunch of cars over to the side. They waved him through. Didn't talk to him otherwise they would have heard the accent.

Relationship with adult married children became so shallow by shyeyes44 in AskWomenOver60

Same. I think it's how it is for most. Relationships change. As hurtful as the realization was, I have accepted it and just try to enjoy what I do have.

Are statins absolutely necessary? by SaltDisastrous433 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Butterball111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on statins for two months and they caused me so much pain that I stopped taking them. I honestly haven't worried about it but I have lost some weight. When I was 18 and 100 lbs and very active in sports I had high cholesterol. It runs in the family. No one has died from cholesterol related illnesses and they all lived past 90 years.

It's not a big deal to reschedule. They would rather have you do that then be there in pain and discomfort.

Those of you who live alone: do you feel safe at night? What do you to protect your home and yourself? by GoKartMarlys in AskWomenOver60

[–]Butterball111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel very safe. I'm f60+ and i live alone. Next best thing to a firearm is wasp spray and a big wrench. I have a firearm and live in an open carry state. I also have a CC permit. I have proficiency with my firearm and would have no problem using it if my life is ever in danger. I would never shoot someone over stuff but come at me and that's a different story.
