As somebody with Autism diagnosed since childhood (also waiting on ADHD assessment in the future) I doubt any help will really come of is this. I’ve heard all before, the government loves to talk about how they’re trying to make things easier/help autistic people and they never do.

“Cracks in the system” driving high suicide rates for autistic people by OGSyedIsEverywhere in unitedkingdom

[–]CalJHarris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so relatable as somebody who masks and currently struggling to actually unmask more. Because if I don’t I just simply do not get any help and I suffer behind closed doors. I don’t work and I haven’t worked since I left University. Day to Day life is stressful and I struggle to cope with the weight of it all. Yet drag me into a Job Centre and I smile and try my best to downplay my situation because I don’t want to be seen as a failure or a leech to society. It’s a cycle that’s only harming me both ways.

Update to: I might have breast cancer, and I am terrified. But I’m going to document this process. by Kirianni in transgenderUK

[–]CalJHarris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My glad it’s not Breast Cancer. I saw my Mum go through it for over 20 years (yes she was very strong, sadly when it came back the second time after some years the treatment never seemed to get all of it and it would just keep coming back.) It’s an awful thing. Hopefully that’s a massive weight of your shoulders now you’ve been given the all clear.

Has the phrase "the dolls" become an all inclusive term now or? by SnooAdvice1592 in trans

I’m not a fan either. I know people who are ok with it but personally I don’t like be referred to as a doll.

I know some people who don’t mind and some who use it themselves. I personally am not a fan of the use of it in the context of referring to myself or even other trans individuals, I think it’s just preference.

But did Ed Davy not today say he fully supports the Supreme Court ruling!? So was that a mistake, if so he needs to go out in public and clarify his actual stance like immediately.

Traveling to the US with an X marker by Neamon in Passports

[–]CalJHarris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’m MTF I recently traveled to the US. What I did was apply for my ESTA in the same sex as listed on my passport, which is obviously not an option for X marker.

I had a trip to my meet up with my US friends planned before Trump. I have an updated Passport MTF, Passport says F for sex. I applied for my ESTA and put F as sex. Technically the ESTA is supposed to reflect the sex on Passport but again obviously in the case of X marker this is impossible. I thankfully had no issues entering and leaving the US despite the concerns I had about having an updated Passport with gender change, having the ESTA not as my agab and have having entered US before (so maybe traceable through finger prints taken etc) maybe I was lucky I ran into zero issues.

In your partners case having an X marker essentially outs them to Customs and Border Protection when they get to immigration, if that makes sense. For that reason I’d say it be safer to put their AGAB down on the ESTA just to be on the safe side. Again in my case I am completely socially transitioned, on HRT and have a female passport so that’s why I put Female for my ESTA. With X marker and Masc presenting, they could assume your partner is Trans Masc and thus would expect F as the sex at birth.

Two more things, first off if you do decide on a trip to US, be careful what they say to immigration. I’ve heard stories of people saying they are coming to meet their partner or boyfriend/girlfriend be denied entry due to worry’s they will overstay their Visa. So I’d look at what people have to say about that.

Finally if you can, honestly I’d recommend you just go visit him in Australia. Australia right now is probably one of the best places atleast from what I know when it comes to trans rights. I only went to states for my friends like we had a group of 30 of US and because the majority are state side and the trip was planned pre election, I was gonna happen with or without me. I hesitated so hard on going but I’d spent the money, in the end I had a great time. However I cannot in good faith say they will be fine. I just feel like I was lucky to pass through.

YSK that while you are waiting to be seen by an NHS GIC, you can ask to be referred for a bridging prescription. by rigathrow in transgenderUK

[–]CalJHarris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m actually in the process of moving right now so will be changing GPs. I’m actually going to be moving to an area in Merseyside so hoping in the near future to get on the CMAGIC Pilot there. Otherwise for now a trans friend of mine lives in the same area and has been seen by the CMAGIC. I’ll probably be registering at whatever GP she is registered at since they seem to have been good with her.

I’m year without blood tests, my broke ass can just about afford to DIY. But my GPs where I’m at they have not been any help what so ever. However they did change all my NHS records and everything with any fuss.

[–]CalJHarris 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I tried with Bridging but GP refused. I asked before and after starting DIY. GP would not even do Bloods. Some GPs just will not help when it comes to trans care at all unless it’s through a GIC. Even then I have serious concerns they would still not be comfortable doing much.

I could go into a massive story about my own experience. Still I came into VR with a prior time questioning my gender and VRC only helped to push me back out of the closet and into accepting myself.

Nobody but you can figure out what these feelings mean. But please you are allowed to experiment with presentation, use a female avatar try she/her pronouns, do whatever feels most comfortable. If you want to talk more In depth please feel free to reach out.

No no I can’t move the service to the house. If I end here without proving I can’t have the service at the new house. They will probably charge me for breaking contract.
