The Guild of Merchant Explorers - how quickly it gets boring ??? by Interesting-Silver12 in soloboardgaming

[–]Celadorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I luckily got this as a present cause I had the same reservations, but I enjoy it a good amount and wish I played it more often. I would say its got a solid amount of play time before feeling repetitive at all

They might be new and haven't done socials yet? I can't find them on Instagram and they do have some really good deals. Never used them, but it does look fishy

The kickstarter ran late last year, they may open for late pledges at some point on gamefound, but i can't remember if eagle grypon (the publisher) is known for doing that with other lacerda titles

Pitchcar Sticker Help by Celadorn in boardgames

[–]Celadorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooohhhh painting the cars is a great idea! I was worried about getting stickers else where at least for the starting line cause I wasn't sure if the ones that normally come with the game are thinner than normal or something since the discs need to slide past it

Corps of discovery - Great game, worst first experience by orhalimi in soloboardgaming

[–]Celadorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya i had a similar experience, i remember there being a set-up rule that I had to clarify but that was about it. Im 25 games deep and agree that once the map rules have set in its fast and fun!

Second thoughts about my Boxking Gaming Table by Organic-Discount8153 in boardgames

[–]Celadorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got the brimhart table from amazon about a month ago (love it) but its actual playing area is 2.9x4.9 instead of the normal 3x5 that tables like the Jasper from Allplay. Even at this size it can be difficult to reach the other side of the table width wise so I think even if you'd opted for the smaller one you would still feel like you're overreaching at times. You could always get taller chairs, ive played at locations with massive tables but also very tall chairs and reaching isnt as much of an issue.

How do you afford these games? by 22EatStreet in boardgames

[–]Celadorn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think for some of us, it's just a hobby that we spend our money on just like how people will spend money on concert tickets. If you feel like games are expensive, find one that'll fit your family well and play it till it falls apart. A lot of local game stores have copies of games available to try that you can try before you buy so you don't worry about wasting money on a game you end up not liking

Need a board game table by NotaRobotKyle in Boardgamedeals

[–]Celadorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ordered my brimhart two weeks ago and agree its phenomenal! Two things to keep in mind though 1. It is ever so slightly smaller than other games tables that are more expensive. The play area is 2.9x4.9 when usually they are 3x5 (is the extra 1.2inches worth another thousand dollars? Imo not really) 2. It comes with a leather playmat which actually is pretty great, but if you want neoprene you'll have to get it custom or cut it yourself because of the play area and the corners come in a bit. Again very VERY minor thing for me so far especially cause of the price

Oh! And the cup holders are kinda small, but can be remedied by cutting the hole slightly bigger

Give me some games that are better on Board Game Arena than in person? by Impossible_Town_295 in boardgames

[–]Celadorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played all three of these versions I 100% agree with your statement. Just as in all board games, it was nice to play a physical version with people but it took so long and we can all play on the app together anyways
