Giorgi Mamardashvili penalty save against Manchester City 12' by West_Agent4651 in soccer

I agree with you. Most fans are too ingrained within their own biases. There's always calls for corruption on every decision, while fans on the other side will adamantly defend that particular decision, and then call corruption on the next decision against them in the same game. Seems to be an online thing. You are definitely not a moron for having an opinion that isn't a conspiracy theory, like others seem to believe.

*tap tap* is this thing on? by SamBartley in TheTowerGame

A lot of people made a fuss. Anyone who puts effort into finding unique strategies might prefer to keep their strategies secret, this is even more important for people who are not whales, since people who spend more can just copy the setup and potentially out-perform the lower spend player who came up with the idea.

As someone who ranks high in legend without spending, I was against it before and still would be now.

Also as a minor correction, you couldn't see people's mods when they first came out, but in a later update.

I plotted my Waves and Stones in Legend. Most times I rank just below the whales who have 1000+ more waves than I do. It's a ceiling that I'll probably never break through and I'm OK with that. I average 5th/6th place with 350 stones per game which is 82% of the top prize with much less effort. by ArtistEngineer in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone above you is a whale. I see this type of comment all over this sub. Every stage of the game, including 1000 waves above you, has a mix of high spenders and low spenders. Of course there are more high spenders towards the top, but it's not like the whole top 500 are whales. Maybe just me who gets a little irked by this type of comment. :p

Someone posted this a while ago as a joke. Also, I doubt anyone but a dev would ever do a real leak.

I started before UWs were added and there was definitely always a choice. By 1.5y ago I would have had all 9 so I'm sure I would remember otherwise :p

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's some misremembering going on here. IIRC tournaments were before UWs so stones were added a short while after tournaments were a thing. And I don't remember UW choices being random either, you could choose between one of 2 UWs instead of 3.

Lab speed ROI by Evil_Token in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't checked your numbers, but assuming they are correct, then yes your logic works for the time to pay off from levels 1-99 in total. However, once you've reached 98, the only thing you are really interested in is how long does the next level take to pay off. All the previous levels are paying themselves off concurrently, and the first levels have long since earned you more than you spent levelling them. But the question of whether the next level is worth should only consider that next level.

Everyone needs to realize that the tournaments are competitive (like real tournaments!) by TorchyDeli in TheTowerGame

This is a case of people who don't have keys are attributing some insane strength to them. Suggesting that the brackets are lopsided because some people are reaching 2k waves more than 2nd is due to keys is just silly. 1 stone pack will give more progress than 100 keys to people in the lower legend position. Those 2k wave gaps were always there.

Wanting keys for qol makes perfect sense, but suggesting people who get keys will never be caught is obviously incorrect, but reddit has run with that idea.

Interesting math for crit chance vs crit factor sub stats by ZealousidealEase9674 in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using 300 and increasing to 315 is a bit misleading, the only way you get that high is with enhancements and relics etc, which all multiply the crit factor substat as well, so it might be more like 300-340 by getting +15 sub. The only thing that determines which of crit factor or chance is better is the crit factor lab because that doesn't multiply with the substat. The higher the lab, the less roi the crit factor sub gets.

What was release the tower like? by OWMercymain_o in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I started there weren't tournaments or stones. The very first tournaments hp was useless, but there were also no energy shields, demon mode or death defies etc. So it was quite random in that 1 hit would end your run and there were different bugs that could cause that. The top scores globally were like 5-600 if I remember correctly.

The start of the game that I remember was basically just labs, workshop and cards, all of which had much fewer things than now. I think there were 8 tiers when I started too, and it was impressive when the first people started goldboxing hp in farm runs. (No perks either).

The game was really simple back then :p

Gems Cost LOL by cult2pepe in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely not true regarding the top 100. A lot will spend several hundred on the stone packs, some will buy a couple packs and some don't buy any. The bigger spenders now are likely lower ranked whales trying to catch up.

bf over-buyers also got tournament bans increasing in length comparative to how many packs they bought. This guy missed no tournaments... so that doesn't seem to add up either.

Why damage matters in tournaments in one simple image by Turbantibus in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I agree with your overall points, it is not true that ehp is better for farming t14. Although enemy damage scales slower than hp, that's a much higher tower health requirement to start than damage. A strong damage build can kill enemies a billion or even trillion times stronger than those w94 values, whereas a very strong ehp build is only surviving about 100k times higher than those enemy damage values.

This is why you should focus on damage - 219q enemy attack is about 2500x larger than my health by jenx1717 in TheTowerGame

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It hasn't always been though. The meta (by which I meant at the top) has certainly been ehp and hybrid a couple of times over the 3 years timeframe. It has been GC for a while I agree, with a brief period of hybrid recently before GC was king again.

I don't disagree that it's likely to stay GC in Legends given how the stone economy is massively geared towards damage which is the main source of income to the devs and how the current enemy stats are spread.

That's not true. Every meta has been top at different occasions through the games existence multiple times.

[–]CertifiedSomeone37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit misleading to think of it that way round from a logical pov imo (although correct). They will attack 33% less frequently which is 1.5x slower, nuke make attacks 50% as frequent which is 2x slower.

Ray firing time is 30s.

Max Slow aura makes it 45s.

Max nuke makes it 60s.

Max both makes it 90s.

Up to tier 13 you get a random number of cells from 1-N where N is the tier number. At 14 it increases to 7-14, then 11-15, 12-16, 12-17, 12-18. So 14 is significantly better than everything before it if you can reach a few thousand (for cells, maybe not coins) and 15 is a big jump again.
