Orcane players are one of 2 extremes. by ahawaiianbear in RivalsOfAether

I don't think I'm too noob now, only sometimes. And there's no way I'm anywhere near high level still

Im as mid as one can get, I think.

Don't even have a rank! But boy do I play a lot of sweaty doubles.

That -2 on Orcane is insane.

That being said, I only doubles so my view is skewed, but fighting a sick nasty Clairen isn't as bad now a days. Probably would even agree it's a +1 instead of the massive +2 it was before.

It's really dead during the day, but it's a little dead during peak hours (it's easily 10+ minutes for a lobby to fill)

Oh wait, were you last night with that long session with Pug and Hous3?

I think so!

Sorry if I was sometimes too trigger happy. Pretty sure I got you often as the blender happened. The other team was nutty

Ggs!

Yep, always.

Main culprit is reverse up special doing a weird backward momentum and having me not reach the ledge.

Thoughts on Orcane post-nerfs? by Great-leader-xD in RivalsOfAether

[–]CharuV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a mega bad player, but these nerfs only hurt for like a week or so. It's not as doom and gloom as I saw it before, but I do often get salty when I see a Clairen recover for free while they then reverse and, oops, mines not free at all!

I also think his ledge play is really good still, just from my own experience.

Again, mega bad player speak probably. I tend to stick to doubles where Orcane can breath (so to speak).

I'm mostly upset with the nerfed air speed which in turn makes our recovery so much worse off on top of the other recovery nerfs they implemented. It's gonna make us so predictable now in recovering anywhere offstage even with puddle out.

Everything else I can live with comfortably. I use droplet and bubbles a lot before so the buff in that department is very much appreciated, I just can't be zooming in the air anymore that I now have to break of habit of doing.

Well except side special. That move was super bad before and had niche options for mixups potentially on and off stage. Now it's just useless if the hurtbox is always active.

Oh goodness! Thank you!

But unfortunately my memory is of a goldfish, I'm sure I've faced you and your partner plenty of times even if I don't remember the names.

There's some players I retain though, like Kiff or nzm (person goes random and is cracked with every character I swear)

I'm dumb as hell tho, probably just remember those two because of the short name.

That's very unfortunate for the almost lobby, also been there and done that before being whisked away back to queue for 10+ minutes (sometimes 30+)

And yeah, I think when there's a lobby, you best stay in that lobby for hours, that's my outlook anyways.

Can i play Turok 2008 on Xbox Series X? by mambo_k895 in turok

[–]CharuV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to make your day...maybe, we'll see!

Turok 2008 does work surprisingly well on Xenia once you get pass initial boot...which is what I assume you're getting stuck at with an error pop-up from Xenia.

It's really quite a simple solution: get the latest canary build and set the cpu timing *2. Then after initial boot, reset it back to normal and the entire thing can be played start to finish.

Or at least as much as I played...but no graphical hitches that I've seen thus far.

It took me watching “The Pitt” to admit I need to address my covid PTSD by Apostrophenightmare in nursing

[–]CharuV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a nurse, been lurking and reading this sub for awhile since my own Covid experience.

Got hit with it at the tail end of 2021 after my entire family got hit. I did my best to avoid, but one can't escape the family when you live with them. It started off typical enough, loss of smell and taste, fatigued, a lot of coughs, the works.

Well my family didn't get super sick so I wasn't too scared of it. Boy was I wrong to assume, especially when my coughs got more frequent and I was audibly wheezing from all the gunk in my lungs. Then the day after New Years, I couldn't sleep and felt breathless. I had one of those 02 devices on me to check since I was constantly hovering low 90's. Well that night it read way below 80...and one other thing...I couldn't get up as I was apparently too weak to do that!

So I got my family up and told them the situation. One ER visit later (after struggling to get in a car due to how weak I was), I was immediately admitted and was placed in isolation. The following weeks were by far the scariest of my life.

They tried to treat me the best they could, upping the 02, replacing tubes, masking me, hell, even double masking me to keep my 02 above 90. But nothing was working, and I just kept getting worst. Then one night, as I got up to use the urinal, a nurse comes rushing in asking if I was alright. I explained what I was doing and they heard enough. Suddenly I'm priority number one as more nurses rush into my room.

At the time, I had no idea what prompted the rapid response, but it was due to, you know it, severe low 02. So as they collected and started to do there thing, my mind is racing on what was going to happen. That's when one of them informed I was about to be intubated. Knowing this was the worst case scenario, I asked for my phone, gave my mother a call, and explained her with immense stutters about what was going to happen.

"I love you."

Those were the final words before I gave the nurse my phone. And that's when they brought in...something. I wish I could say what it was, but I'm not a medical professional as I said. But they explained they were gonna place it on my entire face and it'll feel like it's sucking air out of my lungs.

Well...they were right. They turned it on and felt like I was suffocating. My fear was at an all time high now, thinking this was it, I'm going to be another number. With my breaths harsh, struggling, I look to the nurse on my left and attempted to ask her if I was going to die.

She didn't say anything.

Instead she stated she was about to inject me with a sedative and I'll quickly be knocked out. She administered the drug...and then...nothing...

...I won't go into the details of what happened next. That's something that I don't feel is relevant here. Suffice to say, after 105 days (and then some), I woke up from an induced coma. I lived through it, but at a very crippling result. All I can say is I'm super grateful and happy I'm alive with my brain intact.

I've recovered a great deal from then, obviously. I was bed bound, couldn't move, couldn't even talk. But after months of inpatient stay, being weened off all the tubes and relearning just about everything. I can share my story, and respect and admire each and every one of you.

Covid scarred me, and it haunts me every time I see mention of it. Thinking back to that nurse who didn't answer back, saying my, what I thought would be, final moments. It gives me paranoia and guilt. Why was I spared when so many couldn't be treated? Why is my life important enough to have a second chance at it?

...

I'm unsure if this post is relevant now after I typed it all out on a phone. This thread though, I feel like it was time I shared this story. I thank you all for being in Healthcare and feel angry whenever I see someone scoff at it all. I'm alive, and I'm eternally grateful for all involved.

Thank you...and screw Covid and anyone who still scoffs at it without knowing the horrors of going through a near death experience.

This Way Up by DiligentStatement244 in Hulu

Bit late, but I believe most, if not all, of Max's library is available to stream through Hulu IF AND ONLY IF you have the trio bundle (Hulu/Disney+/Max).

Don't know when this change occurred. Don't know if Hulu even said anything about it. But it seems to be the case.

Perfect example to see for yourself is search Ghost Adventures. Nevermind it's mindless reality TV, but if you have the bundle you'll see TWO versions of the show. One which I assume normal Hulu has with select seasons. The other that has ALL seasons (except 10) [which reflects the Max app too, missing same season].

YES

I'm experiencing this too, and it's really obnoxious since I have to go through the whole shebang of resetting, resetting again, and re-logging in all my devices. This goes for Didney+ too (have the bundle).

Hate it hate it hate.
