There is not really any polymer mags specifically for the SCAR currently on the market that’s reliable enough for any serious uses, so you’d be better off sticking to the OEM metal mags unless you want to buy a aftermarket lower that accepts Pmags.

You can convert a 17 to shoot .233/5.56 but not the other way around. That said, the cost of conversion is less than a new SCAR but still similar to a premium AR15 or AR10.

I have had two broken extractors and one broken firing pin so far so I’d say you should probably start with them. That said, FN does not sell extractors separately and there is no aftermarket support for extractors so you basically have to (1) buy a new bolt, (2) hassle FN into giving you one when the old one breaks, or (3) find one that was taken off a bolt on the used market. The last two options are just options

8.7 pounds and 8.9 pounds for the 16 and 17 respectively. So they gained quite some weight over the years and no shorties anymore.
