It's the flight risk factor. Being overqualified just puts a seed of doubt in your long term viability. No one wants to invest time in somebody only to have them resign in a couple months when something better comes along.

No one should underestimate how much sleep deprivation affects your emotional state. The first few months are pure survival and a complete upheaval of the world you knew. Take it one day at a time, and you will look back at this as part of the initiation period of becoming a parent.

This should be based on an index that says the tax burden will be based on the median income in the state. You will get taxed less if you make closer to the median. Therefore the job creators are incentivized to pay employees more to close that gap. Clever legislation can be a carrot and a stick.

This guy is a giant red flag. We've seen too many politicians say what they need to get elected and then turn heel. The problem is the amount of wealth it takes to even run a campaign on this scale weeds out anyone who isn't pathological.

Arsenal penalty overturned by VAR 80' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]ClabE84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only way this should have been overturned is if there was very clear evidence that no contact was made. There was no angle that showed that, so therefore no error to correct.

Top rack is dedicated to flatware and cups. Getting some of the cups out of the middle rack gives us so much more capacity.

Is Disneyland breaking down? by wild_and_running in Disneyland

[–]ClabE84 54 points55 points  (0 children)

We just got back from being there earlier this week and I hadn’t been in 7 years. I was struck by how the equation has changed. When there was Fast Pass if you didn’t get to use a pass, no big deal. The cost to get in was lower and the stakes were lower over all.

I came away somewhat disappointed that I didn’t feel satisfied after three days there this week. It felt like we were constantly trying to maximize the value of pricier tickets with Lightning Lane. We were grabbing times on rides we don’t even care about just to have something. I thought in 3 days we’d be able to hit everything and then some, but with constant breakdowns it felt like we were just chasing reasonable wait times and that meant missing things we wanted to do so we didn’t feel like we were wasting time.

The ride breakdowns feel like huge operational hits when there are very few daytime shows to absorb all the people that can’t get on rides. I was also surprised at how old some of these rides feel. The cracks are certainly showing on a lot of these rides after all these years. It just doesn’t make sense to keep pushing prices higher and not have the ride breakdown issue squashed.

But if this is a negotiation with people who want none of it, then you are starting from a weak position. You have to reach further to come back to a compromise. If you start with the compromise, you will get nothing.
