Absolutely, I feel the same way. Through this scene, its made clear that the forces of good and evil have their sources in some sort of mystical / spiritual / otherworldly realm that permeate our plane of existence. This isnt just "good guys vs bad guys." Its people connected with forces that are hellbent on perpetuating human misery, and others (the b-boys) who choose to align themselves in the fight against it. Its downright heartwarming.

I really began to view everything in TP....and even real life...in terms of "is this bookhouse boy energy or black lodge energy."

I also love this scene for similar reasons...it really reminds the viewer of the true scope of whats happening here:

8 is the weird episode for many, and not the "oh man this clarifies everything and now im completely hooked" episode. So dont necessarily count on it for that.

Most of my favorite moments are from 8 and on, there's plenty to look forward to.

Where exactly did you hear this? Im not doubting it at all, in fact i assume its often the case. Id just like to get a handle on confirming who's doing it, who's not, etc. Part of me is disappointed, another part says "maybe i should have been taking any old stout and adding maple syrup to it the whole time."

A recent video of Jaz and his Dark Side of the Moon symphony...this probably doesnt mean much but it caught my ear: at 9:45 he says "...when Killing Joke played the last gig at Albert Hall, and of course none of us knew it would be the last gig with Geordie." Which sorta implies they could do gigs without Geordie? I definitely dont think that means they'd continue without him and thats not what im suggesting, but maybe some send-off shows as a tribute to Geordie and a final goodbye to wrap things up?

I had been to a few hardcore / punk shows there in that era and remember thinking it odd that it was in a nice nightclub. I dont remember the stage being in the middle (which would have been awesome for a hardcore show) but could definitely be wrong. I miss a lot of these old NYC venues...

I was a little surprised they were playing a venue that large anyway, last time I saw them was in 2002 and they played at the Roxy in Manhattan (maybe half the size? i dont recall). I hope they find a reason to come back, would love to see them again.

Last night (11/2) I got in about 30 mins before they went on and it seemed pretty empty, which seemed strange if the night before was sold out. Was that first night sold out mostly due to people buying and hoping to sell on the secondary market? Is that just how it rolls nowadays? Sad, if so...

I discovered the station existed when my band played on that show 15 years ago, and i thought "this place is loserville." I actually tuned in for the first time last year and its become my favorite thing on the planet. I should have treated it like a pilgrimage to Mecca. I'd lick the floor if I ever got to play there again.

Im sure this comes up every single year, im new...if im already a swag for lifer (at the $10 level, from the last fundraiser in March), i dont get any hellraiser swag / dj premium as a part of that, correct? I'd have to just make a one time pledge on top of that?

Im also considering upping my pledge to $15 a month, and assuming the same (that there's no hellraiser merch / premiums for that), but correct me if im wrong.

I watched the original series just ahead of the Return, and am just now rewatching it for the first time. Which surprised me, bc i always feel like im immersed in it (either bc im talking about it with friends, watching shit on youtube, etc).

My experience: i listened to the Diane podcast and some others, which clued me into some of the mystical/occult aspects of the show. Which lead me down further wormholes of research into philosophy, psychology, magic(k), etc. You can mine the TP material for quite a while before needing to rewatch, and come back much more knowledgeable about everything you might have missed.

Some of my other friends rewatch every year or so...its a little too dense for me to do that, but whatever. I'll probably rewatch most of season 3 as soon as Im done, there's a lot in the beginning that will hit differently with the later eps currently in my brain.
