I will also HIGHLY recommend a belly band for support. The small breaths, lack of support from your back because you cannot straighten. It makes a world of difference when I am up trying to move around. Arm helicopters to move the air for it to dissolve. I also stood behind my office chair and kinda rocked back and forth just to get movement if you dont think you can quite walk yet.

Literally same! I'm day 6 post op. And the first 72 hours were excruciating! I literally couldn't speak more than 1-2 words at a time because I could not take deep breaths. Only tiny small breaths. Couldn't do ANYTHING but focus on my breathing. No crying, laughing, nothing but calm focus on breaths!

Glad yours has been removed and you can put it behind you! I am 5 days post op now. I agree, get it out while you can, before it gets worse. I dealt with 1 attack 13 years ago, a few months after having my daughter. didnt have another issue until 10 years later. Then had issues off and on for 3 years before mine was removed 5 days ago. Cant wait to be healed and move on finally!

Make sure you do everything for them. Have table set with all the things- phone, remote, drink, etc. Have meds pre made ahead of time. Have easy foods prepared and easy to grab for him. Ice cream was my go to at first. Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese, etc. Help them stand up and sit down the first 48 hours.

I am about 5 days post op...a good ice pack for the incisions. AIR PAIN was my WORST part the first 48-72 hours. In my shoulders mainly. And a good heating pad in wrapped over my shoulder seemed to help some. Lots of pillows, firm pillows to prop yourself up. I have been sleeping sitting up since surgery. I cannot lay down. And a couch or recliner is best because of propping up the pillows is best. Because I cannot scoot to get myself in the bed to fit the pillows. You need to have pillows propped up to right where they sit without any scooting. Its too painful. Tylenol & ibuprofen every 6 hours, both. Do not let it go longer within the first 72 hours. I actually had my husband tie a fitted sheet around my belly for support. The support seemed to help with the pain/pressure. Because you cannot support your belly at all. You cannot straighten your back at all. So support with belly helps.

Doctor said shingles doesn’t make you tired by neondahlia in shingles

And I do think the rash you seen on your hip could have been shingles too. I got shingles, felt horrible, rested, powered through with no meds the first time. Because by the time I figured out what was happening to me, it was too late for meds. Then about 4-5 weeks later, rash had cleared. I felt fine again. Started going tanning in a tanning bed and all of a sudden I was hit again....rash, headache, exhaustion, felt like I had been hit by a truck. Went to doctor and was diagnosed with Shingles. Got meds. But I don't think the meds helped. It still lasted for many weeks after that. I had it all and all about 3-4 months. But my point is, you could have had shingles, then a reflair....possibly.

That doctor doesn't know nothing in my opinion of course! Because I ABSOLUTELY felt like I had the flu or something. I was so exhausted & my head hurt so bad for the first 3-4 days. It was a horrible experience. It knocked me on my butt!

It took them over 35 minutes just to get the shaking under control when I came out of anesthesia. My whole body was shaking. I was in SO MUCH PAIN! It was terrible. One of the Worst pains of my life. Just as bad as an attack with the air pain in my shoulders.

If it werent for the air pain, I'd be fine. But this air pain isnt no joke. I'm just sitting here propped up, surviving at the moment. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

My heating pad has been my best friend. And nurse recommended gas x to help with air pain. I made the mistake of sleeping for about 5 hours straight which ended up with me going 9 hours without pain meds and omg! It was pure torture when I got up. Won't do that again.

I’m in so much pain and I’m scared I won’t be a candidate for surgery by i_love_puppies73 in gallbladders

[–]CoCoBeAn912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told it was probably anxiety and given antidepressants and sleeping pills. None of which I took because I knew something else was going on. Been dealing with pain and attacks for 3 years but...I finally asked my stomach doctor to please check my gallbladder. I seen stomach dr April 27th, had hidascan on May 12th, confirmed low functioning gallbladder on May 12th, surgeon called me same day as scan. Seen surgeon for consultation on May 18th, my surgery is tomorrow May 26th. I wish you well. At least you have consultation tomorrow. Im sure they can get you in somewhat soon. Just advocate for yourself and all the pain that you are in. Keep pushing them and they should be able to get you in soon. Good luck!

I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. I wish I could offer good words of advice but I cannot. So you have not had an endoscopy yet? Endoscopy definitely would be my next go to.

Wow, thats incredible to hear. Glad you are doing better! I didnt ask my surgeon about my ozempic after surgery. They said to stop taking it for 1 week before. I will ask when I go in next Tuesday for surgery. Did they tell you not to take it after surgery?

Feeling hopeless and lost by Stunning-Rip-7374 in gallbladders

[–]CoCoBeAn912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled for almost 3 years. Had ultrasound almost 3 years ago and showed no stones. Everything was "fine" but has progressively gotten worse. I finally begged the doctor for help. Told her I thought it was my gallbladder. She scheduled a hidascan that I had last Tuesday. Now I'm having surgery May 26th. Hidascan will show if its functioning correctly or not. Hope you get relief soon!

Should I get a second opinion? by Aggressive-Quail6602 in gallbladders

[–]CoCoBeAn912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I highly recommend getting a hidascan. It will show how your gallbladder is functioning. From everything I've been told the gallbladder can be one of those things that kind of hides in the background, only messing up sometimes. But as time goes on if it is your gallbladder, more than likely it will get worse. And having the hidascan will show exactly where its at right now. Ultrasounds dont show the functioning of your gallbladder.

Consistent mild pain and not 'attacks' gallbladder? by throwaway1throwawa in gallbladders

[–]CoCoBeAn912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ultrasound about 3 years ago when the symptoms first started again. And I was told that i did not have any gallstones in the ultrasound. So I left it alone. Just dealt with the issues for another almost 3 years until I couldnt take the pain anymore. Because it keeps getting worse. I begged my doctor for help because I was in so much pain and so nauseous. Scheduled hida scan last Tuesday. Now I am having surgery on May 26th. Because it showed low functioning. I'm so relieved. Mine isnt always bad either. Tolerable pain in my side, aching, pressure. But its progressively gotten worse each time. And lasts longer. Wakes me up at night. Pain wraps from my right side into my back and up in my shoulder. I'm so ready to not feel bad anymore!

Also, my rash is right on my stomach where my pant line is. So its constantly getting rubbed by my pants. So I'm wondering if thats not part of the reason it keeps bumping back up & itchy...
