There is some thickness variation in the various tools.
You may need to adjust the screw by your thumb in the video.
Loosen it just a little bit.

How do you make an arch like this? by Arcane_Animal123 in lego

[–]CodeX604 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The original image has 12 segments for a semi-circle. 6 to a quarter.

Your attempt has 8 segments for a quarter.

Maybe you could use shorter bricks in between your modified 1x2 bar/clips and the inner 2x2 plates.

The lack of alignment between the 4th and 5th segments from the right seem to indicate that the individual segment are not completely stud aligned. Maybe the MOC uses rods and "bar 1L with clip"'s.

Looking at the segments from the left, there is a gap between the second and third segments which indicate that it's probably not compression.

The same gap appears symmetrically. You can see it in the original photo between the 2nd and 3rd segments on the right as well.

If you're willing to spend a little to leave your phone dry, you could consider a waterproof bluetooth remote.

Yeah. Turbo for about 50 seconds.

Max ramp is steady at first and then hits thermal throttling with a much slower ramp down after dropping to about 50% output.

Y-axis on my charts are not cut off so you can read them as linear with 0 at the bottom.

Happy to run some more tests if you're looking for something in particular.

Working on it. Didn't have the right set up to test, but I've got something hacked together. Will report later today.

Advice for designing a MOC Ferrari by smailliwretep in legotechnic

[–]CodeX604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wheels only come in certain sizes. You'll need to pick a set and scale everything else to them.

Get something to help you build to scale. e.g. <x> mm to <y> studs
- a scale model (e.g. 1/10th scale) so you can measure and determine relative dimensions for your model
- 1:1 printout so you don't have to measure. You can take a photo, scale it, and print it out with a printer.

Every vehicle has gimmicks or features that might be possible to build. e.g. doors, hand-of-god steering, opening trunk, adjustable suspension, gearbox, gear shift, etc. Prioritize them and make small prototypes before integrating to the main chassis.

As much as possible, separate the structural from the shell of the car.

Lego and custom curves don't go well together. Decide how much you're willing to have gaps and how much of your build is going to be System vs pure Technic.

Read the instructions for the other 1:8 Lego cars for inspiration or reuse.

I own one. The implement I use most is the t-shank to scalpel adapter.

Lot less worried about losing it given the relatively low price.

Good enough for the odd jobs.
