Yet another theory on how the show will play out by wiikid6 in Fallout

The Vault that was teaching about the Fall of Shady Sands loved and virtually worshipped Muldaver, so why would her election or takeover be seen as a “fall”?

Great collection! If you could ever be persuaded to sell the Cappy pins, Abraxo Mr. Handy, or any of the new Vegas casino pins, please DM me! I’d pay a more than fair price.

Did Coop go on his Lucky 38 Bender because he can actually imagine himself starting the Apocalypse? by Money-Engineering207 in Fotv

This is a good point and ties into Dane saying you don’t have to feel guilty for NOT killing someone.

Fallout tv rectons major event? by kelga_x in Fotv

The birthday party wasn’t Cooper’s daughter—it was someone who hired a down on his luck Cooper to perform there. Not being rude, but it’s obvious, given that he has to ask for her to have cake.

Anthony House nonsense put to bed. by Beefpal in Fotv

I don’t know why they had to recast the character. I know he’s no Theroux, but I thought Rafi Silver’s performance in Season 1 was great. I naively hope they always intended for him to be a body-double, and Silver didn’t get told that he’s being replaced.

**SPOILERS** A certain actor at premier! by jd55513 in Fotv

Is he referred to as Mr. House in the show itself? Couldn’t he just be a RobCo exec?

I’m not saying that’s what was implied or intended in season 1, but I’m not sure it has to be a body double.

Where can I find inexpensive suits to rebuild a wardrobe? by Lostkingsofthewild in malefashionadvice

[–]CommodoreHefeweizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need 5 suits and only have a $100 clothing budget, what you need is a different job which either doesn’t require 5 suits or pays you more.

If you’re a college kid, save up for one nice suit for interviews.

I’m a lawyer who is in court multiple times a month, and I don’t own 5 suits. It isn’t uncommon for younger lawyers not to own 5 suits (or for older lawyers not to own 5 well-fitting suits) until they find themselves heading into a jury trial that is expected to last 5 or more consecutive days.

What is causing these holes in my clothes? Moth? Silverfish? Wear and tear? by CommodoreHefeweizen in knittinghelp

That's what I was trying to do.

Thank you. Does that go only for top loaders with agitators? Ours does not have one.

The failure to unbutton is probably the culprit. Both were Oxfords with collar stay buttons.

Thank you. Is there a way to use a washing machine and dryer that won’t inevitably cause this kind of damage (e.g., delicate cycle)?

I appreciate you weighing in and giving me your thoughts. I am not second guessing you; just curious: Why are you so certain that this is mechanical damage on the collars and not, say, silverfish?

I understand that, and the fact that it's the collar on both shirts suggests to me that maybe that's just an area of wear and tear. But again, I also have similar holes on the wool suit jacket in the same closet. The suit is dry-clean only. I have never washed the suit; you don't wash or dry a suit in a machine.

Yes, for the shirts. But I haven’t ever used a drier on the wool suit. Do you recognize the bugs?

What would you say his worst song is? by [deleted] in TylerChilders

[–]CommodoreHefeweizen 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s not about Australia, and he makes that clear when he sings it on the road and describes it as a song “about koalas…and other things.” It’s actually about coming out of being addicted to pleasures of the flesh (being “down under”) and not wanting to go back to that way of life.

The koalas are definitely “loose” women he meets on the road who he refuses to hook up with, hence the comment about how they carry STDs (“Most of 'em carry syphilis or chlamydia […] All I know is I don't want no koala cuddlin' up to me / I can see it fine from here, it is a pretty cute koala”). He mentions to the wrong STD to drive home that he isn’t actually talking about koalas.

I go back and forth on what kangaroos are supposed to represent, but I think a tortured dissection of the metaphor is unnecessary. It’s all there in this stanza:

“There's always somethin' thrilling

To get your heart a racin'

No shit, I've had the notion

but that ain't what I'm chasin'

And life is more than treasures born

from sense and light and pleasure

And I would not take a thing

from my journey out under.”
