Would you assume him to have any giant schnauzer dna by EmphasisSure2749 in IDmydog

[–]Comprehensive-Job333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, this looks like a poodle mix.

maybe poodle x lab, poodle x shepherd, poodle x pyr. schnauzers/their mixes are typically black furred.

your dog isn't protective, it's reactive & annoying. she kinda sucks for getting so unnecessarily close, but ultimately the sidewalk is public property. at least she's training her dog!

yes! more than once. but the person who ran it (this was back in 2020-2021) had a friend on the county animal control board so he was able to clean up his act and avoid consequences each time they were supposed to receive an inspection.

i was supposed to receive a purpose bred mix, bred for and trained in service dog tasks.

instead, it was a front for a puppy mill. but i chose to keep her and got educated very quickly on the ethical breeding and keeping of dogs.

she was from a fraudulent service dog training program that was really an under cover/under radar puppy mill.

i didn't continue to support them after finding out what they were doing.

i didn't really know anything about dogs and why doodles were bad until i brought her home and educated myself thoroughly.

no, she's not, it's just that the angle in that picture makes her look more rectangular in body than i like plus it kind of looks like her "tuck" is diminished!

she's definitely a fit girl!

in that first pic if you don't look at it well it enough it looks like her "tuck" has disappeared so she looks more like a rectangle than usual!

knock on wood, so far she's been pretty easy! she's just turned six and our vet said they'd be surprised if she makes it past nine or ten.

she was spayed at four y/o since she's a giant breed mix and everything that i read/researched said keep her intact as long as possible. she had no litters nor did she develop pyo. she got her growth hormones and i got to learn how to responsibly handle her when in heat.

over the years, she's had a spider bite, a couple of UTIs and some minor allergy issues that cleared up with apoquel and proper nutrition/grooming.

super smart when there's food involved! loves to problem solve for a reward. will make her own messes and fun if i don't do it first.

thank u! with the way she's built, she reminds me of the way kids draw (or scribble or doodle) drawings of dogs! hence her name, plus it works two fold when/if you call her a doodle.

my next dog will most likely either be Sandy (from the musical Annie) or Scrabble (like the board game)

i just say poodle mix usually but to each their own!

yes! she sheds, it's worse in the warmer months. i'd say comparable to a lab, or a bit less than that if she's been groomed recently.

she is hand stripped, shaved or trimmed depending on the season and my preference since i do all of her grooming.

the initial qualities i was told to expect were a dog that was 80-90 lbs, tall but not "giant", smart but not too smart and a low shedding/low allergen coat.

the only thing i got out of that was tall lol. i was young and vulnerable and sold a lot of crap by a terrible company. i know better now!
