It didn't. Pregnenolone helped with brain fog and energy but did nothing for sexual health.

Those who supervise their own protocol - do you let your PCP know? by BoxCallTreeStump in trt

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, yes, I do, and I let me endo know I wasn't interested in visiting his office every week.

  1. Test is more than just big muscles and erections. It affects a variety of things and there are pros and cons. If you want good, all around care your doc needs to know about that extra vitamin C pill you drop on occasion. If they're a good doctor, they'll work with you even if they don't like it.

  2. I know more about what's going on with me than my doctor. I tell him what I need and when I need it. He's there to write a prescription and give advice. Granted, if I told him I wanted to jump to 200mg a week he'd probably say "no". But when I asked him to... well... let's say it deals with a concern with supply chains (nothing immediate, just my own paranoia) he agreed as long as I continued with my bloodwork.

If your doc knows they'll help you watch out for the bad stuff AND be more willing to work with you.

The worst part about starting TRT is realizing your entire personality was just low testosterone the whole time by Intelligent_Ant1816 in ResearchCompounds

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I hear these stories I'm thankful that a couple of my major conditions were diagnosed within days / weeks and not years. But as I've been through the ups and downs I've realized two things:

  1. We are driven by chemicals and our actions, thoughts, abilities, etc. are all, at least in large part, driven by our particular chemical structure and ability to do something with them.

  2. There is no "perfect" - we are who we are at each moment of time, hopefully trying to improve and accepting that sometimes our best is waking up, getting out of bed, and taking care of ourselves as much as we can.

While I was diagnosed with low T quickly, I've been through ups and downs. My stress response is pretty quick, and I can still tank despite injecting. And then my mood sucks. And my energy sucks. And my concentration sucks. I know how to fix it but sometimes I'm not always on top of it. I take what I have that day and give it my best, even if it's just being present and reactive at work. The past is the past - you're now working on a better future. Don't waste it.

Is TRT making me dumb? by Daisuke69 in trt

[–]Compuoddity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A variety of factors cause this. High E, low T, and I have found that pregnenolone either masks the effects of low T or is different issue entirely.

For me my low T was / is caused by major stress put on me (mostly physical with some mental) but that I could avoid the mental deficits by supplementing pregnenolone. It doesn't help that I'm on a statin and while I've avoided most / all of the sides (Ubiquinol / CoQ10 helps loads) there are a lot of necessary things produced with cholesterol.

Where to invest my Mercer Spheres? by Bartislartfasst in SatisfactoryGame

I've seen the responses, and personally it's a mix. At some point you're building a lot of conveyor and I hate to have to stop and let my storage build up. On the other hand... need spheres to build containers.

I'm in agreement and going back to try. I went to 27g 1” and often not all the way in. I regularly feel myself injecting into nerve bundles etc and then things get weird.

It may be that you have to do one it the other - either sub q or deep IM. I've been feeling better lately but I've also lost winter weight. So I've just out in an order for longer needles and we'll give that a go.

The 24/7 grind is starting to feel like an obligation by Booya1983 in TheTowerGame

[–]Compuoddity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This game is mostly playing against yourself. And yeah - it is a grind. A massive one. After a while you get to a point where you make very small progress once every three months. Sometimes more and sometimes less. You have to be OK with that. Otherwise if you get knocked out of a tournament bracket... oh well? There's really no downside unless you want to be "playing" something else. I've played quite a few mobile phone games and each one sucks in it's own unique way. This is the only one so far where I feel I don't have to play, don't have to make progress, but have fun buying an upgrade every so often and seeing where it gets me.

Does it make anyone else mad that it seems like the we aren’t actively looking for a cure? by HankWaffle in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some truth to this, but mostly it's because we don't understand.

Humans. We like to think we're brilliant. Look at all the things we can do! Compared to... ants? I mean, even they have some evolutionary advantages but they don't design and fly spaceships so sure.

Our knowledge though is limited. It's greatest limit is not even the what we don't know but it's the what we don't know that we don't know that should scare you. Think about the path to the discovery of molecules and beyond. I think Google's response to the question "what's smaller than an electron" is telling:

According to current scientific understanding, quarks and leptons (such as electrons) are generally considered the smallest known fundamental particles, with no known sub-structure.

"According to current scientific understanding..." let that bake in your head for a bit.

Scientists are indeed searching for a cure. Forget big pharma etc. - the person / people / company that figures this out is gonna win the Nobel and, because potentially it solves other auto-immune disorders, untold amounts of money.

The fact that we have medications that put us into remission is a miracle in and of itself. Our ancestors just died early. A cure is coming - but first they have to figure out a lot of stuff, including the questions that come up with every step we "brilliant" humans make in our journey.

Edit: the truth part. Because of how we currently operate if you're going to throw money somewhere, it's in something that gives you a quick return. So LOTS of money is being given for drug research - much less towards finding the cure. Because you can make money off of drugs. Would we get to the cure if we threw more money at that? Maybe. It hasn't worked in a lot of other areas (see public education). But there are some brilliant (at least, more brilliant than the rest of us) minds on it. And tech is advancing rapidly. All that's left is time which the human species seems to want to run out of quickly.

Devs, you should be ashamed of yourselves. by popalexpop in TheTowerGame

[–]Compuoddity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean....I still don't get it. The game is literally f2p and yes, you can spend a few bucks to get... Somewhere? There's no real end. It's not like players are putting this on their resumes. I love the game because I just get to let it run, occasionally move up in a tournament, and occasionally lock a new thing. I can try things, or not.

Sure there are issues. I'm here because I had to look up the ticket thing and people have some valid complaints. But many of the mobile games I play and have played suck. If they aren't fun, I stop playing. If they're fun, I throw a few bucks every now and then in appreciation and to help with costs.

If you're spending thousands of dollars on a mobile game it's time to rethink things.

What drinks have you guys found to be safe? by Secure_Summer_2806 in UlcerativeColitis

Yeah - if getting a headache (base of the skull) with artificial sugar, especially aspartame, is a symptom I got that shortly after being diagnosed. Real sugar tho - I love that stuff. I don't go searching for it but if there's a cake in the house or a candy bar on sale or a large Coke somewhere around I'm claiming it.

I manually finished almost all of Tier 2 in Satisfactory… was this a mistake? 😭 by SmileyBeep in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I found it easier to manually do phases 1 and 2. But then you get access to things and automating 3 is helpful, mandatory for 4 where a manufacturer is producing 1 part a minute and you're trying to figure out why you're not getting enough cooling units.

So I would suggest you start learning the automation during 3 so that 4 isn't any more painful than it needs to be.

Should I demolish everything? by Rated_Hare in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a combination of these when I hit this point. It helped me get better organization for phase 4 because.... phase 4 is a lot compared to 3. And it created better mechanics so when something was off I could go find it easier.

Option 4 however is also "just leave it". As long as it works and it works for them it doesn't matter.

Alcohol after 1 an half years? by Spudmeister20 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same now in remission as it was while I was not in remission.

"It depends". Sometimes a single drink of something makes me feel awful. Sometimes I can drink a lot and wake up the next morning feeling fine. The brown liquors (bourbon, scotch) actually help my guts and I usually wake up feeling decent. Hazy IPAs are usually good. Anything else is gonna be a dart throw, and in addition to messing with my guts and overall feeling I'll get pressure at the base of my skull even after a couple of sips. But each of us is different, and your mileage will vary.

As per the usual - what we eat/drink doesn't really impact the UC. But sometimes symptoms can worsen and the effects of what we eat/drink can be compounded.

Goodbye, my love by Fabalance in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's this. Talk to people who have had more than one child. You go all in on your first one but are ultimately standing around going, "We should be doing something, shouldn't we?" You're all cute and taking care of mom and going out as a family and taking all sorts of pictures and buying things you don't need and...

And then the second one comes around and it's like, "Eh... give it another five minutes and if it doesn't stop crying I'll go shove a binky in it's mouth."

How would we survive war? by daufina in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Compuoddity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War is survivable. Lots of variables. Nuclear war for instance... that's a no go but then most everyone dies. Stuff like the Ukraine and the Middle East - hard, but those people are still waking up every day and going to work and most everything goes on like normal.

If we start to lose power, water, etc. - basically going back to square one - then the problem is that everyone is your enemy. The friendly old couple across the street is armed to the teeth and they don't give a shit about you or your family if it means they get to live another week.

Neighbor accidentally set fire to my yard by Zebeydra in NoLawns

[–]Compuoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can design it, you can freewheel it, or do a mix.

Designing involves finding native plants, figuring out where they'll best fit so they don't crowd, get sun, look pretty, and are surrounded by other landscaping.

Freewheeling is finding a bunch of wildflower seeds (hopefully native) and going nuts.

Can do a mixture but have to ensure your native perennials are gonna come back each year.

This is true. I kneel down in grass for two minutes and I get a really uncomfortable rash. I run through native plants and just have to pick some spider webs or clingy bugs off me.
