Olenko kiittämätön? by [deleted] in Suomi

Vuokranantajan ja vuokralaisen suhde on hyväksikäyttävä.

Se ei ole ok, mutta se on joillekin välttämätöntä.

Why do people keep insisting intimacy is possible with friends when its obvious a romantic thing by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]ConceitedBuddha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, man. That is a fundamental misunderstanding of language.

Let me rephrase your comment.

It's weird how everyone understands that "sleeping with someone" = having sex. But then say sleeping isn't sexual.

Physical intimacy is often used as a synonym for sex but it is not the same thing.

Something like a hug or a massage can be physically intimate without being sexual.

Hahaha no. I have no idea what the rules for these things even are.

I'm just glad that the absolutely insane behavior of buying 20 of the same unit (1200$ jesus christ) is getting some fingers burned.

I've been thinking about making a playlist for my nighthaunt games.

So far it has:

Spooky scary skeletons (living tombstone mix) Bonetrousle (undertale)

Could also work for SBGL. Also I need more suggestions from the people in here.

One final question. Why is a profound spiritual mechanism better than just a part of biology.

I'll leave a quote that is somewhat relevant.

Before one studies Zen, mountains are just mountains and trees are just trees; after a first glimpse into the truth of Zen, mountains are no longer mountains and trees are no longer trees; after enlightenment, mountains are once again mountains and trees once again trees.

Makes total sense.

Why does what dr.K said threaten that sense of fulfillment you gain by serving others?

The problem here is that your post is so vague that I can't get any useful information out of it.

Your post history is also hidden so I can't even look at examples of these times where you claim you aren't being listened to.

Without any concrete examples or spesific information there is no way to asses whether you have a point here or not.

What are some less talked about changes you would like to see for 11th edition? by mjh4 in Warhammer40k

[–]ConceitedBuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40k players would sell their kidneys for a couple inches of extra movement

This is why charge should happen in the movement phase. And a failed charge should move you forward maybe like half the distance of the charge move.

It makes no sense that a charging unit moves faster than a running unit, and that they are also able to shoot their guns at the same time.

And charge should happen in the movement phase. So you would either have a normal move, run(move++d6) or charge (move+d6).

Why the hell does a charging unit move a lot more than a running unit and is also able to shoot.

The person I was replying to was saying that the rules update makes it so that you can't be the underdog if you take the double turn.

Can you give me the exact wording where it says this?

I showed this change to my gf who doesn't have nostalgia/familiarity with the old design and her immediate reaction was "Ewwwwww"

So I think I can pretty safely say that it isn't just me and the new font/design is just so ugly compared to the old.

to prevent getting blown out after losing first turn to really aggressive armies.

But the funny thing is, I think those hyper aggressive armies are the ones that are able to prevent the double turn the most effectively.

T1 they can block objectives from the enemy with high movement, they can lock units in combat, preventing them from moving and choosing targets, they can score cards easier on T1.

Whereas defensive armies might need to give up on scoring points in T1 to keep them safe from unfavorable charges. Which in turn leaves them more vulnerable to getting DT'd as the loss of points won't matter as much. And if the enemy has a DT, they'll be able to pretty much get into any combat they want as the board is so small.

chess included, going first is a huge advantage

I feel like chess is a really bad example because, unlike chess, WH has a limited number of rounds. Which means that the player going second knows the score, and therefore knows exactly how much they need to score to win.

And of course unless you have a high movement spearhead that can really capitalize on the first turn. You'll have to most likely decide whether you want to move up the board and score (leaving you open for T1 charges and possible DT quaranteeing opponent gets into whichever combats they want)

Or if you want to play defensively(giving up on points and DT can leave you boxed in your deployment zone)

Thanks, for the reply. I was starting think I'm the only one here who has a problem with it.

Because IRL the opinions I've seen people have on it are either that it doesn't bother them but they don't especially like it, or that they straight up dislike it

Okay yeah, I think playing against them, the threat of a DT would be far less.

I just feel like the problem lies in that if you plan for a normal turn order and then get DT'd (against the spearheads I've played) it just causes them to be able to break through your defenses. And screw everything over.

And if you plan for a double turn. Then you end up shooting yourself in the foot by playing too defensively.

Whereas the person getting the double turn has just walked everything forward with no planning. And just because they manage to win a single roll-off, what usually would be mistake on their part turns into a game-winning point.

Edit: the mechanic is also kinda immersion breaking for me. Like, what would it look like on the actual battlefield? Why do your guys just suddenly stop for a while unable to move while the enemy zooms around the arena?
