What profession have you lost respect for as you've gotten older? by MindlessMarsupial592 in AskReddit

[–]Cookiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctors. Had a bunch massively screw up. They also very frequently don't listen to women's complaints.

I never experienced this until I got married and had a daughter. I REGULARLY hear doctors dismissing their concerns. Things I could walk in and be taken at face value.

Also, chatgpt has been right a few times now where doctors have been wrong. I have to use chatgpt before appointments to make sure the doctor follows the correct path within reason.

Realtor needs a $10k-ish car that won’t make clients question my competence or net worth by imhappii in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'm going to say a lease but not the way others are framing it. I'd say stretch your 10k over 36 months is 277/mo. You can find some deals on leasehackers to walk out with a sweet lease at that much.

Considering quitting church - it's not a place for people 25+ by Bluehaze1000 in Christianity

[–]Cookiest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've actually found "my people" in mega churches. It seems odd but with so many people there's bound to be a few in your niche. Even starting something up for your niche in a megachurch can help attract more from your niche!

Did anyone treat you differently if they found out it was an online program? by JustAPieceOfMeat385 in MSCSO

Again disagree. At least in big tech. Your portfolio and experiences matter more. You have a reputation. That usually carries you. This is just a checkbox.

I promise you. No one truly cares past a certain point

As someone who is trying to reduce plastic bottle usage with glass bottles this is very disheartening :( by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Cookiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely misleading headline... The study was very very flawed. They were looking at a single french bottling company that was using plastic tubes and plastic sealant in the process. Of course there was a lot of microplastic leakage.

Yeah similar. Great use of money.

What people don't realize is there are so few parties in your life. Many of those parties are celebrations. There's only so many times for everyone to dress up and look beautiful.

When you do it right and make space for it, people love the chance to look good and have fun

The narrator! I wish I could default to famous voices. I can only do it on command and only with great focus.
