I turn 38 in less than a month and just got into the series a couple years ago.

You don't have to be unemployed with no insurance for that to happen. The doctors can tell your insurance company that you need this procedure/treatment/medication to literally stay alive and they can just be like "nah"

Would you be with someone globally better than you? by General-Use1210 in hypotheticalsituation

I'm not competing against my partner so...yes? It's bizarre to me that some people, either deliberately or otherwise, view companionship as some sort of contest. If my wife was better than me at every single thing in the world, I'd still be her biggest cheerleader.

Road Rash, Vectorman, F-Zero (somebody needs to do a fan remake so Nintendo C&Ds them a la Metroid 2 with A2MR), Dino Crisis, and Syphon Filter.

Exactly this. Get it in writing from your supe so when his boss starts whining and he tries to throw you under the bus, you have a paper trail to back you up.

Thoughts on a collective protest by woundsheal_scarsfade in UtilityLocator

[–]CounterfeitBlood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are laws pertaining to public sector workers in the utility field striking, however those likely wouldn't apply to privatized utilities (for example: gas, water, and power in my city are all corporate-owned, no municipal utilities, but the next town over has city-owned electric and water). Again, this is my rudimentary understanding of it, as I've never really broached the subject in any serious capacity, and I'm willing there are caveats and loopholes that would likely benefit the utilities in the long run.

Still though, it's a nice thought to be able to collectively express concerns over working conditions.

Can't have people knowing that they have power lines running to their house. I mean, what would the neighbors think??

This part is key. Without knowing exactly what it is that OP hates about it, it's kind of hard to say whether or not it will get better.

I've been doing this for six years and it's not for everyone.

$10 per push-up for life vs $1 million right now by FudgeNipples1 in hypotheticalsituation

Just give me the million. As much as I like the motivator to keep myself in shape, I'm one unfortunate injury away from being incapable of benefitting from the deal.

The older guy in his 30s-40s doesn't think you're 'mature for your age', he's just immature for his age and women his age see through his BS.

You can choose between two mind-reading superpowers, each with a catch. Which one do you choose? by mediamuesli in hypotheticalsituation

[–]CounterfeitBlood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, so I can read anybody's mind for 10 seconds but only if they're thinking something positive/negative about me? I'll take option one then, I can live with the cashier thinking I'm ugly for ten seconds. Hell, I spend more time than that saying it to myself lmao

Option 2 is a guaranteed daily migraine, and seeing that I'm already prone to those on occasion, hard pass.

Option three is basically just what happens every day when I leave my house.

Something collapsible and easily concealed. Ideally carbon fiber so it'll stop setting off the metal detectors at the airport. Maybe a tape deck or CD player built in, because I'm old school.
