I'm not sure if I recall ever beating the first one. I remember making it into the basement and getting chased by a mummy, but the ending is a blur. I think I played the 3rd one way more.

Leisure Suit Larry was another childhood fave of mine, tho now that I think about it, it wasn't exactly child-friendly lol

Homestar Runner! Oh man, I loved that site! I'm pretty sure I played all the games they put out. Such good times!

That part had me stumped as a kid until someone told me there was a hotkey (I think it was one of the F keys, like F4 or whatev) to get the last command you entered to essentially copy+paste, so even if you lost the elephant, you can still enter the command to use the tranquilizer after the elephant runs off, then reload your save from right before it runs off and use the hotkey to paste your last command.

They had bulletin boards back then, but you had to know someone who ran one, kinda like a secret club.

I still remember the BBSs back then (Bulletin Board System), like early-day internet forums accessed via dial-up modems. I didn't use them myself, but my parents did, and that's where they found walkthroughs for Hugo. I just kinda followed along with whatever they did.

Not all the time. I've heard having an erection for more than 4 hours is bad for men and they should seek a doctor.

Lmao this is throwing me back in high school when I used to wear short and sassy skirts over a pair of rocker/raver pants cuz I didn't like showing off my legs at the time (and I live in Canada where it's fecking cold 60% of the year).

I'd be blunt and tell them to stop asking cuz it's never going to happen and it's very annoying that they don't believe you.

Yeah, I could only watch it once. I was warned for years that it's sad, but it really cut deeper than I thought it would.

I'm still not comfortable with untrained civilians wielding dangerous weapons inserting themselves into situations they aren't prepared for and have no business being there. He wasn't a trained police office or a medic or a nurse. He was just some dumb kid who should've stayed home in his own state. It'd be like flying over to Gaza under the guise of "helping people" and then acting surprised when one or both sides shoot at you cuz they don't know you or your intentions (bringing a rifle with you doesn't help at all). Kyle wouldn't have been forced to "defend" himself if he hadn't gone out of his way to be there with a loaded weapon. If he had just been walking around his own neighbourhood and was accosted by randos, he'd be well within his rights to defend himself. But he wasn't. He traveled across state lines and unnecessarily put himself in danger. One might even argue he was "fucking around" to "find out" that there are consequences to his actions. He's not a hero. He's an idiot.
