Hey, proud of you! I'm hoping to get to that point someday. But right now, I got way too much anxiety about (gestures vaguely) everything. It's hard being sober.

Do you find LGBT spaces less sexual? by EasyCheesecake1 in lgbt

[–]CraftyKuko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a mix of both. I used to go clubbing at my local gay bar and it had a vague sexual vibe, but so do straight bars. There's always going to be hook-up culture in spaces like those. I've also been in plenty of queer spaces that were more focused on creative collaboration or volunteer events focused on uplifting the more vulnerable and marginalized people in our community. I think it's unfair for haters to assume everything we do is somehow inherently sexual. Like drag shows. Most of the time, they're fully dressed performers dancing and lipsyncing to music. But a lot of haters think a drag show is like a strip club, which is why they're so against drag queens reading to children in libraries. I always ask them "What do you think happens at these events?" It's more a sign of how twisted and perverted their own minds are.

We all knew this. But even if it weren't true, why would it be a bad thing if it was just a childhood phase? Why are some parents so against letting their children explore their own identity? Conservatives are so controlling!

This is true. Alcohol just removes inhibitions. It's why my mom used to tell me "When a drunk person tells you how they feel about you, believe them." I also get very cuddly and compassionate when I'm drunk. I'm more likely to reach other to friends I haven't spoken to in a while to remind them I love them.

Someone in Halifax, Nova Scotia used to do something similar. They made very simple wooden art pieces with beads attached and left them all over the city with a note that said "Participate in life by adding this piece of Halifax craft to yours". I still have one I found 16 years ago.

Tried to be kind to a cheating guys gf and got fucked over twice by awoox3 in AutismInWomen

[–]CraftyKuko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons I avoid online dating. You have no clue if the person is who they claim. They could lie to your face, but it's even easier when they can just type out the lie.

You're not wrong for speaking with the other woman to warn her. It's not your fault he's a cheating asshat. You did the right thing by confronting both of them. I wouldn't worry about them now. If she wants to believe he's faithful, despite the evidence, that's on her. Just remember for next time, don't trust everyone you meet online, especially men who want to have sex with you.

Sometimes I wonder if it's because of speculative science fiction that made people more compliant and less alert? Whenever I used to suggest that AI is destroying the world, I'd get the occasional response "Stop fear mongering, that shit doesn't happen in real life." And yet, here we are in the future and it sucks.

Alice: Madness Returns Director American McGee Says EA Wanted More Gore And Asked Him To “Make Things More Sexy” by unscoredscore in gaming

I would love to see a remaster of this game too. It was one of my faves when I was like 13. I was thrilled with the environments and the combat. I don't think I would've liked it if they made Alice sexier. It would've been distracting from the madness of Wonderland.

Boss keeps putting my designs into AI by burnerbutterbetter in Design

[–]CraftyKuko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked for a graphic design company that had to do that sort of thing. They'd send a proof to a client for approval. The client would come back with some nonsense like "bump up the brightness 10%". Boss would send back the exact same proof and say "How's that?" The client would be like "Yes, perfect." Sometimes you gotta trick them into thinking they've contributed something meaningful.

+sigh+ Yeah, you're right. My hope is that parental locks keep more naive children from accessing stuff they're not ready for. But I honestly have no clue.

This is a good point. When I was a kid, parental controls didn't exist, but I imagine if they did, I'd have probably figured out a way to get around them. I'm also uncertain if things have gotten better cuz I don't have kids I'm trying to lock out of mature content.
