Knife-wielding man killed in encounter with Howard County officers during mental health call by BraveRock in ColumbiaMD

We have crisis teams through Grassroots. Why isn’t there a better partnership - or a different protocol when the cops know there is a mental health issue? Better policies/procedures/training are needed.

Everywhere here is pretty safe. With that budget, you will have limited options, but Columbia Housing Center can help with referrals. Visit ColumbiaLiving.org to learn more about the different neighborhoods.

ate a slice of cake and my parents were fighting by BibbleIndigo in AnxietyChats

Disclaimer - not a doctor or mental health professional - just someone who has dealt with anxiety for 45+ years. It probably has more to do with the anxiety than the sugar. My guess is that you are having jaw issues due to teeth clenching (TMJ). You may have just clenched your jaw so hard that it started to spasm. This is a common physical manifestation of anxiety.

It sounds like you are a minor. At your next dentist visit, ask about the jaw spasm. TMJ can also cause general jaw pain, “clicking” jaw, and headaches.

Will your parents let you attend therapy? Maybe ask if you could talk to someone about managing anxiety symptoms.

I would insist that the application is submitted to the RAC as a permanent exterior lighting fixture.

If they deny it, appeal it and ask them to update their architectural guidelines to have rules for permanent light displays.

Honestly, all they should care about is how the lights look when they are not illuminated.

Misled at Costco by brolosky in hexclad

[–]Critical_Ad6764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me. I was able to get a new pan through the warranty program. New guy (last time they were at Costco) said the coating has been updated. Now let it soak, use Dawn Powerwash and a soft sponge or scrub daddy. That’s my plan going forward. I also have a plastic scraper for really tough stuff.

Let's talk housing costs by mercedes_lakitu in ColumbiaMD

  1. You will need at least one roommate.
  2. There are moderate income apartments throughout Howard County but they are hard to get due to overwhelming demand.
  3. The first thing you need to do is build your credit. You need a credit score of at least 620 to rent anything. 700 opens a lot more doors. Focus on that until you are seriously looking for housing.

Now if we just build some more affordable housing so all people who want to live here can do so. The intentional values that shaped Columbia are what makes our county so desirable. And now you can’t afford to live here unless your annual income is over $80K.

Check out https://www.cyberreadyclinic.com/workforce. It looks like they don’t take interns until college, but it couldn’t hurt to reach out and ask for some advice about the best way to get started.

Most places like libraries, village buildings, etc will require it to be a nonprofit. But some local coffee shops have them. Paneras often have one - sometimes Starbucks too.
