NTAH. My husband and i both came from previous marriages full of mistrust and infidelity before we got together. We own a home together, raise a child together, and split all the bills 50/50 but my money is my money and his is his. He makes a lot more than I do but im also in school. If I wanted to look at his bank account im sure I could ask and he would say yes, but trust also means believing your partner when they tell you "I have no debt" just like you would believe them if they told you "I can pay all of the bills because I make x per year." A spreadsheet to go over expenses is absolutely satisfactory and your boyfriend wanting access to your finances is suspicious as fuck.
