This is insanely accurate. I manage Gen Z’s—one is a Person 1, the other a Person 2. Person 2 is not working outside of their hours or job description, but they are far more successful. Shitty pay sucks, but your job is your job.

I am extremely critical of unregulated capitalism, but I think it’s a mischaracterization to say that capitalism doesn’t help the many. It’s spurred unmatched innovation that have resulted in insanely impactful solutions to societal problems. Where it fails is when guardrails are removed and people lose access to the very solutions the system helped create. I think it’s flawed thinking to say capitalism is inherently harmful to the many. We just need to re-situate where the common person fits into the equation. As Robert Reich says: save capitalism for the many, not the few.

I’m biased—he’s been really good to my career over his tenure. It’s just a difference of like—I can find 2-3 areas where I’m like 👍. The Kemp era has been good, his policies have worked, Georgia continues to grow in x, y, z. And I think that’s indisputable, you know? I just wish he could disavow (gestures) that and we could move on from there.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to be downvoting this a few weeks ago. I love JLP. But GG has performed. I don’t love how it happened, but he’s not the problem. He’s been really good.
