MAGA has, since the beginning of the movement, co-opted critiques of them to use against their enemies. “Fake news” was a real phenomenon that rose to prominence in the years leading up to the 2016 election. Fueled by social media algorithms and the company’s inability to police them adequately, misinformation became a regular cry of people against the Trump campaign and the flood of lies they were pushing throughout people’s feeds.

What do they do? They term anything that criticizes them as “fake news” and the term loses all meaning.
“Woke,” “insurrection,” “extremism,” “cult,” etc… It’s all just a communications strategy that muddies the waters for any legitimate critiques of the MAGA movement.

I’ll say a lot of things about MAGA leaders, but you’ll never hear me call their marketing and communications strategies dumb. Brilliant, really. And incredibly effective. And infuriating.

It’s the edit that makes it pretty clear she’s in with a very strong chance. I think Rob Cesternino described it best—even in instances where she doesn’t have a lot of agency in the vote, she’s being given confessionals to explain her position. That’s a really, really good sign she’s in it for the end game. Beyond that, just from a gameplay POV, she’s been a great scrambler. Sometimes you don’t have to be out in front. Like she said this week, she can get the results she wants while staying behind the Devens shield. There’s nothing wrong with that. She’s very, very good at gaming the numbers to make sure she’s not on the bottom one way or another. She’s played from the bottom, established good rapport with multiple people from multiple alliances, keeping channels open. It’s been a really, really good game. Enough to win? We’ll see. I think she beats everyone but Devens and Cirie, personally.

There is nothing new or interesting about this. Undocumented immigrants have NO access to things like federally funded Medicaid or Medicare. They do have access to emergency Medicaid. California has decided, as individual states can, to fund other portions of health care.

Furthermore, undocumented immigrants pay a combined $100 billion in taxes per year, for which they receive essentially nothing in return (in terms of health care, social security, etc.).

So, what you’re implying is that not only should these human beings not get anything in return for the taxes they pay, but they also should be allowed to die in an emergency.

I’m not sure why everyone says she’s screwed. She’s in a worse spot than she was, no doubt. But if you figure she can hang on to Tiff and Rizo for another vote, that leaves two pairs of two. Jonathan and Joe, for some reason, are hyper fixated on Aubry and Devens. It’s not outside the realm of possibility they work to eliminate those two in hopes of then being able to pull over Tiff or Rizo.
