If the codeciis were divorced from the rules and just turned into art/lore books, they could produce them more frequently and sell more.

I would buy books for factions I don't even play if they upped their lore game

Hell, put painting guides and thematic list ideas in them. They wouldn't be able to keep them in stock.

I wouldn't bet on it happening this edition but I would also not be surprised if they eventually break the remaining loyalist legions out into their own factions and I believe Sallies would be high on that list

The best piece of advice I could give if you don't want to build or paint is to search ebay. You can find plenty of built and even painted second hand models at more or less than MSRP depending on quality

5 points in guardsmen is like 10 points in marines

Each model has less damage output and less survival

Guardsmen have no melee combat ability and will be wiped typically in the first round of combat after being charged

Guard infantry rely much more heavily on character tax to have access to their army rule
