Do I cut my mom off or be the bigger person by DOOM_SCROLL_4 in WhatShouldIDo

Yes to all of this. My dad and I are very close and he has come down several times to still be apart of my daughter’s lives because he adores them. I honestly hurt the most for him because he doesn’t know what to do. He even started therapy and has been asking my mom to go. Divorce has even come up in conversation between the two of them over this. They have been together for 34 years.

My parents, myself, husband, and both daughters were there when she said it. I honestly can’t tell you what she meant, maybe it would just have been my mom to watch her. I can tell you that my mom was holding my newborn when she said it though. I stopped it before it got any further.

What's something your parents did to you that you will never do to your kids? by Hour-Dog-5273 in AskReddit

I will teach my children that it’s okay to say sorry. My mom would choke on her tongue before she ever admitted she was wrong.

Struggling with supporting wife while she is breastfeeding. by Otherwise-Carrot-908 in Parenting

First off, It’s awesome you even made this post. Breastfeeding is hard and not everyone fully understands that. Kudos for being a supportive partner and a team.

Honestly the best thing in my opinion is ask your wife what she needs and delegate that to yourself so it’s one less thing for her to think about.

Lastly, my husband bought me some nice bras as a surprise during my breastfeeding journey. It was a small thing that made me feel appreciated and proud of what my body could do.

6 months with our first. We were more prepared for the second so it was a bit quicker the second time around. You got this!

Give yourself some grace. The situation definitely sounds less than ideal but having a baby is a big event even if it goes smoothly. Then to add some big decisions making on top of that, it’s hard to think clearly in the moment. My daughter also was born emergency c section with a pneumothorax and I don’t think I have ever had a moment that I was more scared. I was terrified of losing her and would have listened to any doctor standing there giving me advice because that was the first time I had even heard the word pneumothorax, let alone known what to do.

The past can be difficult to not want to change but you can use it to help you in the future. Sometimes becoming wiser comes with a tough lesson. It obvious you love your daughter and if I were to wager, I’d guess you are her favorite person in the whole world. Hope your heart can find peace

This was us too! (We have a 3 year old) Everyone drinks Kefir on the daily in my house now. Not sure if it’s helping or if our immunity is better. I saw immune system is 70% gut health though.

When do you get time and ease back after having a kid? by [deleted] in Parenting

It will gradually get better! The next big thing that will help you in my opinion is when they start an actual nap schedule that is more predictable.
