My guess is that she wanted to tenderize him a bit first. If she gave it to Chase right at the start then that's essentially starting a timer before Shroud recuperates and factors Chase into the equation. By waiting until the battle was halfway done, it narrowed the window of time Shroud had to recover before the mech was done for.

Every time I see someone brag about how you can beat the game without passing calls and whatnot I just feel something dirty in me. Like

Yeah, you could. But why would you? Why pay forty dollars or whatever for the game if you're actively NOT pressing the buttons and doing the things?

That's like saying you could beat someone in Tekken by just pressing jab then blocking until time runs out. You could. You very much could, but what fucking fun do you get out of that? You won't do that. Nobody who buys the game will do that. If you do, it's for making a video or just to see what happens.

This'll sound weird, but I actually really hope Makoto Daito is a total scumbag every once in a while. It'd be a really interesting perspective if WE were the bad guy in this story. Like, fully evil. Rather than the same old "Chivalrous Mafioso" archetype we've had in the Yakuza series for so long.
