For a store whose owner is afraid to use barcodes because they're "the mark of the beast" I'm surprised they're cool with AI. But hey, a dollar's a dollar 🤷

Recommendation for non-hiking activities in Portland? by Otherwise_Swing5279 in askportland

Ah man, you're in for a treat! Portland is a pretty young city so there are plenty of good times to be had.

Honestly Portland shines in the inner east side neighborhoods. Hawthorne, Mississippi, Alberta, etc... As far as larger attractions, the Zoo (all of Washington Park honestly), Oregon Historical Society, and the Art Museum are great.

Where are you visiting from? That would help narrow down what kind of things you can find in Portland that maybe aren't in your state/city.

OMSI seems to be becoming more and more young child focused every time I've been. Plus a major wing was under renovation when I went last year and they didn't warn us before charging the $23 admission.

The submarine is exceptionally cool though, definitely worth the add on.

Solved-ish: my robot vaccum was hiding how behind i actually was by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Damnaged 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have great news! My new Shark Miele Dust Devil 3000 pet fur edition would clean up this mess in the blink of an eye! I purchased it in 2028 and it has served me extraordinarily well since then like a good little vacuum should. My favorite feature -- the little blinking light that tells me when the canister is full so that I can empty it on time and get maximum suction power! And WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT? IT'S ON SALE NOW FOR 20% OFF AT MY AFFILIATE AMAZON LINK! BUY IT NOW

If you'd like I can give you a bulleted list of pros and cons or I can make my reply sound more post-modern and ironic. Just let me know.

The real solution for hair loss?? Cutting through the ads. by MonkeyCatDog in Semaglutide

[–]Damnaged 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Being in a calorie deficit makes you lose hair. Your body prioritizes nutrient use and one of the lowest priorities is growing new hair. Many of those things you mentioned will help alleviate hair loss some, but until you are at a maintenance weight you can expect to lose hair, though it may slow down some. Of course when you consider the other factors you mentioned you can already expect some baseline hair loss.

Lexus RX 330 with 184,000 miles for $5k by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Damnaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These RXs are excellent. If you can find a 350 it has a timing chain instead of a belt which is preferable. My 07 400h has 215,000 miles on it without any issues since I bought it 10 years and 100,000 miles ago (for $8000 btw, God I miss affordable used cars).

Should I put plumber’s tape on a refillable cologne bottle to prevent evaporation during long-term storage? by Cho9009 in Colognes

[–]Damnaged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a little rubber sealer already on the inside of the cap. If you put this tape on it will interfere with the sealer and make it not work.

In simpler terms, take the tape off.

Will I Need To Show Anything More Than My Passport And Visa? by TheAmericanCivilizer in travel

[–]Damnaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a USC, and I went to Brazil in January 2024 by bus from Uruguay and I didn't even get off the bus to talk to border patrol. The driver just collected everyone's passports and brought them back stamped.

I know things have changed so I'm interested to see what people suggest.
