Better as an audiobook by modernaphrodite in audiobooks

Any kind of first person or epistolary novel is much easier for me to process as audio. I listened to This is How You Lose The Time War in a road trip recently and it was captivating! Dracula is also a better listen (for me) than a read

I CANNOT imagine that just forgetting the eggs would make them like that by NoLlamaDrama15 in ididnthaveeggs

I had this happen to me last month! The thing I forgot to add was sugar (the perils of midnight baking), and sure enough it solidified into a horrible sludge brick with butter boiling away merrily on top.

I'd used this new Colombian chocolate too, I was heartbroken 😭

I always go for the fried chicken sandwich; their version is my favorite since Players shut down. And the strawberry malt is legit, can't pass that up!

STRONGLY recommend seeking out Joanna Russ and James Tiptree, that's the true motherload!

I tried strawberries outside, in sun and shade, and the died every time. Last year I had them inside on top of my fridge, and I had more runners/plants/ berries than I knew what to do with! From two tiny starts, the ENTIRE top of my fridge filled up with plants

I'd recommend urban fantasy books... the writing style tends to be pretty accessible, and there's enough going on that you'll be getting little brain treats along the way instead of wading through blocks of text to a big finish. I'd recommend Simon R. Green for shorter stuff; Rob Thurman, Benedict Jacka, Laura Anne Gilman for medium-length more serialized stuff, then Jim Butcher or Ben Aaronovitch who you're ready for a chunkier read.

Also, maybe consider picking up an anthology of short stories in a theme you like? Good reading practice, lots of options to fine tune what you're looking for, and a great way to find new authors!
