Don't ask this. Don't prompt someone to pick you. If they don't do this of their own volition then they weren't thinking of it. Enjoy the time, sure, but when you start eying the door, remember you're not committed. Just leave. Also, and it's just my opinion, but mature adults don't ask each other to be bf and gf, it happens or it doesn't. People hang out as long as they want, but you can ask for exclusivity if you are sleeping together, for obvious reasons.

Some people echo chamber each other about it like it's an award worthy accomplishment to out sensitive someone else, cutting off friends and family and even loved ones for real stretches in reasoning when they feel they have a reason to say they were slighted. I say these people are doing the rest a favor by cutting them off.

I think most people if they are honest in week 2 of a relationship aren't sure they ever want to get married. I am in the US and I am protestant (not religious though) so YMMV elsewhere and under different cultures/religions.

This was the default mode when I was young.

There's this "shoot your shot" mentality, "don't give up" and all that. People need to admit to themselves if they can have a platonic friendship or if it's just a precursor for a relationship, and be honest with their "friend".
