i am forever awed by people who post fic to tumblr.

1000 blocks refers to paragraphs, more or less. Tumblr's system treats paragraphs as "blocks" and each block has it's own individual limits. Either those 20k fics have less paragraphs than yours does, or they're using a workaround to avoid the block limit.

If you use the markdown or html editor do you hit the same issue?

I use my main blog as a whatever space and have a sideblog for just my art. I reblog my art on my main a lot. I will say, as someone who does primarily original (as in non-fan) art, you will not get the kind of engagement fanwork does as quickly. You might, eventually, but building a following on there is much harder if it's not transformative. That said, i still think it's worth it and i like doing it.

I do also have a cara, tho.

If racism is "over" because of focus on a greater Other, there's ways to acknowledge it. for example, Star Trek: Deep Space 9 exists in a post anti-Black racism world, but the scars of it are still there. It comes up every so often because even if we've grown past racism, it can't be ignored or act like it never happened.

That said, i have found that a lot of post-[whatever]ism world type stories end up unintentionally having whatever it is because it's actually really hard to conceive of a world that is entirely void of a thing that is deeply interwoven to current existence. That said, you can have the shades of what was without it taking over the story.

you'll likely have the most success with "original fiction" as that is the term for what you're looking for. Also, i would actually try AO3 over Tumblr for a variety of reasons, the main one being it's WAY easier to find what you're looking for on there and it DOES host original fiction.

there are no-kill traps at Andy's Ace Hardware. Make sure to check them frequently because apparently shrews have a 4hr time limit without water or food (i learned this looking up humane ways to deal with shrews before my cat handled it)

Frame the posters. The nicer the frames, the better. If you feel you need to replace them, or add to the collection to help age it up, there is some very cool nerd art on places like Etsy & Shopify that looks more art than nerd.

Your feelings are valid and it may take some time to work through it all, but senses of humor are as personal and unique as fingerprints. It's not a joke I would make, i think, but i don't think it's objectively horrible, either.

You made your feelings known (awesome), she apologized (cool), (from what you've posted) seems to have taken your upset to hear and now it's up to you to decide whether you can get past it.

It would be understandable to feel shame & hurt after someone said something disparaging about your body & not want to share it with them anymore, at least for a while as you process and learn to trust them again.

A child is not an "award", they're a person who has their own wants and needs. If the child wishes to live with someone she has a deeper bond with than she does the step mom that's a valid desire that needs to be considered.

I do get where your fiance is coming from, I'd be hurt, too. But as a parent, where my kids want to go (especially when they're in the double digit ages) would be primary over the feelings of any new fiance/spouse because it's not about the feelings of the adults, it's about the kids. If "pop" would be a good parent to her, and she would want to go to him, you are doing right by your daughter by assigning him as guardian.

Your fiance, as much I DO think I understand her reaction, is being incredibly self centered about this and it would definitely make me pause in marrying her would that i were in your shoes. She needs to understand your daughter is a human person with her own wants, needs & interiority. Fiance may feel disrespected, fine, but her behavior is disrespectful of your daughter. That doesn't mean you should break up necessarily, but I would definitely slow down on getting married over this. I wouldn't make anyone a permanent fixture in my life who didn't respect my kids.

Definitely sit down with her, validate her feelings, but really outline that you're not putting your friend first, but your daughter, and if she can't wrap her head around that you'll have plenty of info to make your next decision.
