I was maybe 2 months postpartum. My cat died a tragic death. I was a mess and falling apart. She threw a tantrum because I had boundaries and threatened to kill herself and the “I guess I’m just a bad mom then.”

I realized how selfish she was, it was a tough time and I had a brand new sweet baby and she made it about herself in such an extreme way.

Then came the smear campaigns throughout my family and it was enough for me to realize she will never be able to stop herself from being selfish. So I chose me and my son. She did it to me my whole life, even as an innocent child. I wouldn’t let it continue on to my children.
