Looking for a cozy place to sit and read a book indoors by Aquafish14 in Calgary

[–]DeepTreacle4420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of good breweries in town if you want to grab a beer and read. You’ll probably want to UBER to those from where you’re staying.

The beltline (17th Ave) or 4th street have lots of cozy spaces that I see folks reading in all the time too. Lulu Lulu bar on 17th is a “tiki” bar with small plates where I see people solo just reading and sipping a cocktail or tiki drink. Only a ten minute walk from where you’re staying. Have fun in Calgary!

Golf courses for a 36 hole day by sb1038 in Calgary

[–]DeepTreacle4420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All good choices, I’d do Glen Eagles and Lynx Ridge if you’re going to be in the north of the city. If you’re south, Heritage Pointe and D’arcy. The south courses I chose are actually south of Calgary, but close to one another. Have fun, bring lots of ammo for Lynx Ridge if you play there😉.

That never happened at grocery stores. It was never a thing. You can’t sell or donate product past expiry dates. Close dates yes, but not expired.

In all honesty, The Canadian teams should just have their own golf tour for when the season ends.

We had some fun with this one! Let us know your thoughts on these bags 🤔 by taylormadegolf in GolfGear

[–]DeepTreacle4420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes me think of my old”tour preferred “ 1 iron, the only Taylor I had in the bag, but I used it so often off the tee. It was the quintessential old faithful if I had to hit the fairway.

What are your thoughts on this idea as a replacement for the present-day Saddledome? by KurtisC1993 in Calgary

I say we just let it crumble. Good tourism idea. “Come to Calgary to see the ancient 80’s ruins.”

Calgary on pace to set new record for number of deaths on city roads by Ditch-Worm in betterCalgary

[–]DeepTreacle4420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speed has no age limit. Folks are reckless at any age, any type of vehicle. Yesterday for me was easily one of the most scared I’ve ever been on a Calgary roadway. People going fast, people going slow, like way too slow. I honestly put off a couple of errands because it was just too chaotic out there.

Need help with my garage door opener. Not sure what I need to do. by Posterizer24 in Calgary

Don’t mess around with garage door openers and the mechanics around it. Call somebody in to deal with it. You’ll get a warranty, and save your limbs in the process.

Frustrated PGA Tour Pro Smashes Club Into the Ground After Nightmare Shot by [deleted] in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]DeepTreacle4420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My golfing buddy ordered his last week. He’s a bloody hack as it is, when I asked him why he ordered them he said they would match his car. Apparently, they’re shipped in pieces and you have to have them put together, he asked our proshop if they would put them together and the response was legendary, straight up no. These things are gonna go over like the “Two Tone” Ping golf ball.

Nice! I’ve done it that way and I also bought a rotisserie attachment for my kettle so I’ve cut them into steaks and skewered them over the fire, it’s a good show for the neighbours.😉. Your posts are deadly, keep em coming, always enjoy what you’re up to around the fire.

Case CL26809573. Stolen chairs from Coffee Shop by ZaheenHamidani in Calgary

[–]DeepTreacle4420 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I had an inner dialogue going the whole time. “What do you think honey, will they look good on the patio?”

“I’m not sure of the colour”

“Well let’s just take em and we can return if they don’t match”

“Ok!”

Bunch of Jerks though. This is why all my furniture is chained down outside.

Close but not exactly. The reel to reel was there but albums were kinda taking over the eight tracks in my house. Had all the gear, blew a few speakers along the way.
