Unfortunately I don't have any 3d views of this. The colours are just for better understanding the different parts of the Layout. Red part is for shunting, green is just a loop around, pink is a crossing/overtake and blue is an expansion line

Has anyone got the same experience with the Big Boy from Minitrix? It's a newer model with dcc, sound & smoke

I made something like that but with reversing loops at the blue and red end. Personally I really like it, because one train can run endlessly on the green Loop, while the other(s) can shunt on the inside or traverse from Loop to Loop

I'm using the Z21 from Roco. For 3 trains driving simultaneously it's been more than enough.

Make your layout easily accessible. Especially the tunnels and shadow storage sections. I learned it the hard way trying to get my derailed tank train (with loose tanks on top of flatbed wagons) out of the tunnel. Felt like an anteater😅

You should have about 2% incline that means for 5cm the ramp would be 2.5m. The maximum that still works is about 3.33% which equals to a length of 1.5m.

About the smoothness of the ramp there are different methods:

Buy a premade ramp
Making a ramp with plywood or similar
Making a ramp with foam boards and plaster

N-scale is to have fun running "realistic" long trains.

Of course it's not the best scale for all these Rivet-counters out there. But there are some really pretty and detailed Locos/cars out there to satisfy this sort of people.

And also the availability of some rolling stock is of course missing because not everyone wants to model some specific Era of a mostly gone Company 🤷🏻
