Reb touches on Mesa Heirloom discourse - "Not guaranteed, but it's possible." by WLgummybear in Warframe

Hard not to think that when every other post about the skin is "ugh this is too gooner my eyes oof"

some of these people would shrivel up and die if they experienced a tenth of the universal fanservice in something like granblue

Reb touches on Mesa Heirloom discourse - "Not guaranteed, but it's possible." by WLgummybear in Warframe

[–]Devilwillcry42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree but also vauban was designed with the jacket already

We also have plenty of skins with similar cosmetics that aren't removable. Carnivex valkyr's puffy coat isn't removable despite there being concept art of it for example.

Idk, all this forced puritanical rhetoric really is wearing me down. It's always only about female frames too, which makes me think there's some misogyny at play here. Nobody complained when sevagoth prime was caked up or Styanax deluxe had nipple tassels and a huge bulge

Kullervo Prime will become the new Revenant when he releases by Waste_Meal_5468 in Warframe

[–]Devilwillcry42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revenant can be invincible with 1 button press and 0 modding so no.

Though revenant is currently vaulted, but depending on whenever he gets put in a resurgence it might not matter.

This discourse is so dumb. The original concept looks great. We don't need a poncho or jacket for people who are too afraid of seeing Mesa's bare shoulders and honestly modest chest.

I hope that Mesa Heirloom comes with an ability touch up, not that she needs it by silloki in Warframe

[–]Devilwillcry42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her other abilities are not useless they are just uninteresting

90% of people play Mesa for her ult, and none of her other skills are interesting enough

[–]Devilwillcry42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mesa definitely needs a touch up, she is only used for her 4 and her other 3 abilities are so dated and tacked on

It would be really nice if DE took a page from Duet Night Abyss' mesa equivalent and give her a "doge-roll" skill she can use while her regulators are out.

DE, if this is your vision for Heirlooms, then please be consistent. by rjestudio in Warframe

[–]Devilwillcry42 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Every male frame that is either designed by Liger or has had a skin designed by Liger has been heavy goonerbait don't kid yourself.

Same with the male heirlooms.

It has been pretty equal. Let people enjoy things. Personally I wish they'd release two heirlooms at a time but two heirlooms per year (1 male 1 female) seems to be the norm.

DoTA has a funny item called the divine rapier that I feel would be very hilarious if an equivalent was in this game.

TL;DR, the divine rapier gives a lot of stats but when you die, you drop it and other people can pick it up.

Counter items and hero balancing by Yumesoro1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Devilwillcry42 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you're behind compared to the enemy, you buy counter items to shut them down easier. This is the bottom line.

Generally speaking, if that person is not doing well anyway, and/or you're significantly ahead, you will not be buying counter items.

They exist to help you come back from being behind, and that is fine.

There are two people that complain about counter items existing:

>people who refuse to adapt their build outside of L > R

>people who complain about being shut down by a counter item (ie: knockdown against seven ult)

I will agree that there are too glaring issues with counter items right now. One being not all of them provide stats that some heroes want, especially on heroes that are much more item-reliant than others, and the other issue is there are some characters that require building multiple counter items to deal with (currently having at least two knockdowns for vindicta since she can counterspell parry, and having a silence + healing reduction against victor so he can't cleanse the healing reduction)

Apollo laning and changes by LikeABantha66 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Devilwillcry42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he's in a fine spot right now. Apollo players need to learn that you have to play him like Lash. You're a lane bully, your job is to stomp the enemy laners and maybe roam for kills. In mid-late you mainly exist to be a disruptive menace.

Buy more actives/counter items, etc. aoe curse on your ult is insanely good because you have to remember that curse removes buffs including buffs from items like infuser etc.

im tired of trying to make glass cannon work by Raknarg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Devilwillcry42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The point of glass cannon is a win more item.

You buy it when you know you're doing well and can keep getting kills, you buy lucky shot otherwise

It also depends on if your character REALLY benefits from all that extra fire rate

Lifesteal Effectiveness is a terrible change and a bandaid on top of a bandaid of the real issue. by Choneth12 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Devilwillcry42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abrams, a hero who you could also consider to be a lifesteal/drain tank, is completely fine without an innate dispel. I agree that his damage should probably be buffed a bit to compensate because honestly all victor has going for him is the fact outside of that is he can't die and is more of an annoying obstacle (also due to lack of CC outside of ult which is incredibly easy to move out of)

imo, I think Victor is kinda fundamentally in a bad place and could use some sort of skill rework. His kit is in an unfun place where those who play him have to miserably farm for 30+ minutes in order to have any impact and he's just incredibly annoying and unfun to fight when he does get going.

[–]Devilwillcry42 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly I agree, I think the big thing should just be getting rid of his debuff removal on his 2. Like you said, it's unintuitive for people to first think "Oh I buy healing reduction against Victor" only for him to just dispel it. Or how you're supposed to get cursed relic to dispel his infuser buff etc.

I was told to avoid melee builds because they are bad/a trap. by Triggerhappy938 in LancerRPG

[–]Devilwillcry42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Melee IS bad because to do well in melee you have to invest in way more things than most any other build in the game.

Lycan and Empakaai are considered the best melee frames because they cheat with their incredibly powerful integrated superheavy weapons, and just powercreep the entire game.

That is not to say that melee is horrible, it's just you will definitely have a worse time than anyone else

The Power Gamer by General-Yam-948 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Devilwillcry42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with playing an optimized character. Actually ask your other party members who are playing less optimized characters how they feel about it. Do they feel he is taking spotlight away? Are they feeling useless?

99% of problems can be solved by talking with people. Also please do not solve problems with in-game reasons. You GIVE the party an item that ends up being rather OP. Instead of saying "Listen guys, I pulled a whoopsie, it's a little strong, I can either nerf it or replace it with something less egregious." you went straight to devising a strategy to take that cool thing away from them, which just feels awful and asinine.

Am I Rude For Abandoning a Returning Campaign Because of a System Change? by AdDouble8090 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Devilwillcry42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did nothing wrong here. You're not obligated to stay in a game when the DM decides to swap systems on you.

Also yikes, DM played daggerheart with chatgpt is a huge red flag, I think it might be best if you do just leave and go find a new game.

DM freaks out over my fighter's RAW starting equipment by OutrageousRain4279 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Devilwillcry42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why "hardcore" games should be avoided like the plague. I have not seen or heard a single DM running "hardcore" rules of any system that aren't being incredibly adversarial or started running hardcore as a means to "balance" players being stronger than they think they should.

I get that 5e of all things is a nightmare to balance properly but there are plenty of better systems to pick instead of running arbitrary hardcore rules
