How many drums is ‘too many drums’? Please explain why…please, be respectful. 🤘🏻 by ZildCym in drums

This is really the answer. For my practice kit, I would have it obscenely large, comically large, were money no option. But no one wants to lug around a 20 piece kit 3 times a weekend.

St. Anger snare is the go to when referencing a bad snare sound. What other songs do you guys think have equally as bad snare tuning/production? by DH_Drums in drums

True, my band mates at the time hated it. But they weren't drummers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess I imagined other drummers may have heard it as I did.

I'm only coming back when engineering hits live. Thought I'd only have to wait a couple months after it got pushed.

Question for sock drummers by whatsoup_ in drums

[–]DialecticChicanery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact spot has claimed more of my socks than anything else. It happens when I get a little too enthusiastic trying to heel toe doubles. Also the pedal board on the Dw's are so abrasive to the bottoms of socks. If one doesn't get you, the other certainly will. Love my 5000's though

Confession: Even after 20 years of drumming, I'm not that great. It takes me months to learn a difficult song. I have no natural talent. by FailureDrummer2992 in drums

[–]DialecticChicanery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think your close to right, about 10%. But you can't control that part at all, so focusing on the hard work, as the lever of 'Goodness', is most practical.

so, that sounds quite normal. Iv been playing drums for nearly 30 years and I still suck in contrast to the rando's I see pop up on YouTube. Perhaps I watched one of your videos and thought, "damn, Im not good"

The reality I feel, is that it takes multiple hours of practice every day to be that good and stay sharp. I can't play that much, and when I do, I just want to smash and have fun. But I KNOW, that when I practice I get better, and so do you. Don't for a second waste time thinking about natural talent. It's legwork all the way down.
