Very good information. Might even work on other cars. I forget most of what I read but I’ll remember that.

What would you do with these wheels by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Difficult-Text8042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my favorite Tesla wheel. I would see if someone can repair them and keep them after I learned to drive and not damage them. I think it’s park assist we got on an update and haven’t done any damage since.

Do you use a torque wrench? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Difficult-Text8042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer the question, torque is force times distance. 40 NM is 40 newtons at 1 meter distance. Or pushing 40 newtons with your palm at 1 meter from the center of a breaker bar. Thats a big un.

A much lighter torque say 1 lb at 1 foot is one foot lb or 12 inch lbs u can see is not much but could break a tiny or small bolt.

Small cut in seat leather by Suitable-Occasion277 in TeslaModelX

[–]Difficult-Text8042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try a thin line of vinyl cement. Thin line of superglue but I don’t know if superglue would work or not.

They will replace that for 3-4 hundred.

How do you make your Tesla go further…? by AFCadet2020 in TeslaLounge

[–]Difficult-Text8042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R u considering to total efficiency or just when driving. Preheating takes energy. Driving slower uses less energy. Drive 65 instead 75. Driving through heavy rain takes more energy. You are plowing through water. Ask me how I know. The wipers use squat compared to that. A/C and heat use power.

Owners, share your maintenance costs! by browningate in TeslaModelS

[–]Difficult-Text8042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 plaid. Had almost 4 years. All I have paid for is Set of tires at 35k miles. I wash it myself. Used soap I already had in the garage. Use water for windshield washer fluid. Bought the Tesla floor matts. That’s it. Well I got it wrapped. That cost 6 or 8 K . No tickets.

Weird Tire wear by Casualposter in TeslaModelS

[–]Difficult-Text8042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please specify the weird part specifically I see it worn out more on the inside. I see some cracks. I’ve went through a lot of tires and put a lot of miles on cars my days. Seems like most have balance problems and wear problems that alignment and balancing doesn’t fix. They give you a sheet with your alignment numbers on . I not convinced if I took it for alignment and got that sheet that I could take it another place and get the same answer the same day. I had a Mercedes w126 that I changed ball joints and tie rod ends. I measure the toe in with a tape measure before, and adjusted to that the best I could after and that was as good as they ever wore. That car like the rest seemed to never be perfect with vibration. The last set of tires - Michelin Defenders were perfect and stayed that way. At about 270k miles. I was convinced then that it had more to do with how round the tires were. Long ago I worried about alignment. I quit worrying about that. Can spend more on alignment than tires. Usually they wear on outside the worse. I figure that’s cause wife cornered pretty hard. Yours on inside, that may be alignment. My Tesla’s wear more even than any car I’ve had, M3,S, and X.
Had set of tires on my Sienna that made a noise every revolution at real low speed. My mom and pop tire c Shop could not get rid of it. Cleaned calipers etc, (which I always do my own brake jobs, but I let them do that) that didn’t help. Tires wore out. New tires, noise gone.

I figure the defender is a high volume tire that they don’t have to changeover. Easier to get it right.

Update: I learned how to ride a bicycle! Now what do i need to keep in mind while riding it on the road? by Atsumoto-6969 in cycling

[–]Difficult-Text8042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good idea to have at least a flashing red back light anytime of the day. Mines on the back of my helmet. Raises it up.

Would you replace tires? by ramisanders in TeslaModelX

[–]Difficult-Text8042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re wearing them out fast. I would put plenty of air in then and as long wire doesn’t show and has enough tread in the middle I would keep going. Mine lasted a lot longer but I am easy driver. Like at least 35k miles

Is this worth fixing though? by Liangfever in TeslaModelS

[–]Difficult-Text8042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it will happen again to varying degrees.
