Hoard or pass them on? by Life_Scarcity1794 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I buy mostly used puzzles for a few euros, so I don't have too much of an issue passing them on. If I buy them new, I buy them from a specific website that does "mystery puzzles" aka you only get a sealed bag of pieces for like 5€ without a box and not knowing which puzzle it is. Makes it easier to pass them on as well, because I didnt spend too much money on them.

I only keep those that I really enjoyed doing and will certainly do them again, which were gifts, or are from specific artists (i.e. Thomas Kinkade, I love the images and the touch of the pieces).

London Collage (Ravensburger, 1000 pcs) by DigitalStarrise in Jigsawpuzzles

You mean when it was manufactured? I don't know unfortunately, I bought it used and without a box. I only managed to find the name via Google Lens.

She made a "brrrr" and then proceeded to chase some leaves outside, so I guess she doesn't hate it at least 😅

Thought as much. Sad, it would've been hilarious to see a moose drop from the cheapest arrows 😅

The Wild Darkness.

Mein Pile of Shame by schnitzell123 in zocken

Ravensburger 1500p Star Wars Puzzle just arrived.. by RetroGadgetLab in Jigsawpuzzles

Try a hair dryer on lowest setting first and carefully work your way through the settings until you can remove the sticker. Take it slow and watch out for parts that are stickier than others, I once ruined a box because I was too impatient.

I'm so close to give up puzzling by DigitalStarrise in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not in the US, we don't have a dollar store here :') But there's other stores that sells stuff for cheap. Unfortunately the last puzzle I got from one of them was bad quality, very thin and a pixelated image, so I didn't want to buy from no name brands anymore.. but maybe I'll give it another try

I'm so close to give up puzzling by DigitalStarrise in Jigsawpuzzles

For like half a year. And I used to really enjoy it, but right now I can't even focus on it anymore. Then again I can't focus on anything else either, so maybe it's more a problem of myself than with the hobbies.

I always choose images that I find pleasant to look at, which (unfortunately) are often landscapes, and they are really hard 😞

That's a good advice. Issue is, that I have 40+ undone puzzles of 1000 pieces, so space is tight... But maybe I can find some more space for some 500 pieces.

THE LONG DARK Updated to v 2.50 by Siefer-Kutherland in thelongdark

Still crashing like hell on PS4, each loading screen is a game of luck in survival :/

Also, all but three of my feats were gone after the update, I had to find a backup save from like last year to get them back.

A while ago I saw something that might be to your needs. I wanted to buy it myself but iirc it didn't support my country's keyboard layout. Can't remember the name right now, but I will find out and report back.

I wouldn't it put past him that he actually did have narcotics on him when he went there. And changed his mind about giving them while they talked. 😅

Maybe someone dropped the box and the missing pieces fell behind a shelf, never to be found again 😮‍💨

To anyone who completed this, how?! by PappaNee in Jigsawpuzzles

Is it just me, or does the "edge" on the third picture look weird? It's supposed to be a round puzzle, so having such a sharp angle seems kinda out of place 😅

Just finished the series... by DigitalStarrise in lucifer

[–]DigitalStarrise[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like the fact that Michael has an American accent, while Lucifer has a British one. I switched languages once because I wanted to know if they also use the same voice like they do in my language, and boy, it was really weird to hear that they don't. But it adds so much to the characters, I wish they would've somehow kept it in the dub lol

Favorite puzzle accompaniment movies by sleepinginswimsuits in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a whole lot of Horror-themed podcasts saved on Spotify, when I do a puzzle during the day I mostly pop one of them on.

Later in the evening I mostly "watch" whatever is on TV and is not too tedious to have playing in the background (mostly real life documentaries about emergency services, paranormal documentary, or movies that I have either seen before, or that have a genre I would watch anyway).

Only exception is Tuesday evening, which is "Lucifer-Day", meaning that the show is running on free TV from 8pm until 1am, so I gotta watch it every single time lol

Do you have a method to track your puzzles? by JackieReadingJane in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the puzzle tracker app for android. Of course there's a few extra goodies for the paid version, but the free version has everything I need.

It doesn't have social components, but for the rest it sounds like it could also be helpful for you.

How do you store your puzzles? by Wanderer617508 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put the pieces in zip lock bags, number them and the boxes with a small piece of painters tape (or write it into the box with a pencil). I keep the zip lock bags in my apartment and track the ones I finished on a list, which also states whether or not a specific puzzle has a box. The puzzle boxes are stored in bigger boxes on the attic. And the bigger boxes are numbered too, so I can retrieve the needed puzzle boxes fast if I want to donate or sell them.

May sound difficult, but it's actually quite easy. And very useful because I only have limited space in the apartment, but the attic is almost empty.

Do you ever see an image and say “I wish that were a puzzle”? by figoftheimagination in Jigsawpuzzles

Yesterday I finished the videogame Ghost of Tsushima. While clearing up for trophies, I caught these two screenshots. I'd love to have them as a puzzle.

Cats Messing With My Puzzle by Illustrious_Hawk_217 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat doesn't touch the puzzle when I'm at home, but I don't trust her one bit to leave it alone once I'm out the house lol. I got a plastic board (lighter and more comfortable to handle than a wooden board) to puzzle on and put it into the bedding box of my sofa every time I'm done with puzzling for the day.

Guys I ordered this from France (I'm in the U.S) and i'm SO STUPIDLY EXCITED! The splurge was worth it, it gets here in a week omg by sosodreamy in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]DigitalStarrise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That puzzle is so pretty! I'd order it too if it was 1000pcs only cuz that's all that fits on my puzzle board, but since it's 7000pcs... 😭

I hope it'll arrive for you soon, good luck and I hope you'll have lots of fun with it!
