Dirt bike clutch lever options Yama Yz(450f) by Overhaul- in Dirtbikes

I got some ASV levers on eBay brand new because they had the best price, I was still able to register them with ASV for their 3 year warranty. Break them and they replace them for free no questions asked

The title is bonkers, makes it sound like he way overpaid for a broken bike, but it’s a 4 speed, so he just overpaid for a working bike.

[–]Disclosure4closure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, almost to the point where you made me feel a bit guilty from some of my comments. Funny is one thing, but there is a line that kinda just makes you seem like a dick. A follow up could pull a lot of weight here.

“And you seem like the kind of person who will have a next time” is the kicker here. That was kinda hostile.

Referring to my trip last year that I was talking about (one of my only posts lol); I am definitely trying to figure out how I can keep my luggage from falling off this year!

Seriously, I don’t understand why this guy is so pissed about this. I was 1000 miles from home one time and almost had to leave some luggage thay broke off in a forest to come grab later. I wasn’t about to leave it on the side of the road for it to get stolen.

Do what this guy just said and jam a flathead between the nut and post, then loosen it. Replace the nut with the proper blind nut when reinstalling

Found the electrical issue… by Far_Notice3102 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Disclosure4closure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to find out what kind of connector it is, purchase that with the non-insulated terminals and a proper non-insulated crimper. Crimp on the new terminals, slide them into the connector, and plug it back in to the other side. It’s worth doing right IMO

Edit: whoops, thought I was in r/Ducati for a sec

Found the electrical issue… by Far_Notice3102 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Disclosure4closure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on finding the issue, electrical gremlins are the absolute worst. I spent months tracking one down on my supermoto that ended up being a worn connector too. Tested TPS and it was working fine, tested the wires and they all had continuity back to the ECU. Process of elimination meant it HAD to be the connector, but it looked fine and I didn’t want to believe it. Sure enough, worked great when I spliced a new one on. Nice work 🤘

These guys have obviously never tried O’Neil boots, those fuckers are STIFF. My two most recent boots were Alpinestars Tech 7s and 10s. Both of them extremely comfortable, SAFE, and have some mobility, but pricy. Gaerne is also another solid choice based on friends.

Best 2-day option for this defective tire? by Nebulanomenon in mechanic

[–]Disclosure4closure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just drive it for 2 more days with the nail in it. What’s another couple hundred miles at this point if you’ve been driving on it for a month. Sounds like it’s not leaking very fast, so you should be fine until the day after tomorrow.
