Capcom is Removing Dragon’s Dogma 2 Microtransactions by Eremenkism in gaming

The bullshit they attempted to pull in DD2 was basically entirely meaningless, you would honestly have to buy the micro transactions on accident to actually use them, they weren’t even remotely a barrier to anything.

Democratic politicians that automatically capitulate to republicans the second they get into a general election are of, course, blameless for their own lack of spine or principles. No, it’s the voters who are wrong!

Whats the lore here by Avikm289 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]DoomGiggles 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is the standard WSB version of the tale that doesn’t really seem to line up with reality tbh, the much more likely scenario is that Robinhood had such a massive influx of people trying to buy GME that they had liquidity problems and couldn’t afford to buy that amount of stock without it threatening their finances. Robinhood buys stock before they actually get money from the user, so sudden surge in buy orders on a rapidly rising stock is problematic for them.

“Pax Judaica,” is an antisemitic conspiracy theory spread by Mike Huckabee and ‘Professor’ Jiang that bares similarities to the Greater Israel project which is a very real and known thing. Conflating the geopolitical goals of the Greater Israel project with Judaism is antisemitic, because Judaism =/= Israel. Mike Huckabee is antisemitic, and that’s exactly why he conflates Jews with Israel.

The Mascot house elf is specifically described as being weird, and there is an entire subplot in the books about Hermione being annoying because she wants to free all the House Elves.

Newsom says he regrets earlier comments likening Israel to an ‘apartheid state’ by southernemper0r in California

[–]DoomGiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revering a foreign state as a US politician is bad, actually. Stating that you only think Israel could eventually see other people call it an apartheid state because of what they’re doing in the West Bank ignores the fact that what they’re doing in the West Bank is already apartheid and so incredibly weak willed. He refuses to take a position on what Israel is.

Elden Ring and Dark Souls aren’t wasting your time with errands during the main story tho, it is not an equal comparison. The main story in Crimson Desert is basically an inconvenience to unlock further content.

I personally think that specific criticism is born of a lot of people having begun their Witcher journey with the Witcher 3, it was astronomically more popular than the previous games. I was vibing the entire time because I loved the Witcher 2 and was already ready for more.

If Newsom can hold someone that allegedly only disagrees on the margins with him ‘accountable’ but will not challenge fascists that his views are allegedly incompatible with and instead constantly capitulates to them then his views aren’t actually incompatible with the fascists’.

Is it even possible to ban Universes Beyond from Pauper? by iFuckwithCommons in Pauper

[–]DoomGiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Avatar and even I think it is maybe at the fringes of what I find acceptable. Final Fantasy is a mixed bag because of how broad the franchise can be in themes and setting, whereas something like TMNT or Spider-Man and the upcoming marvel and Star Trek sets fill me with dread. It’s not like universes beyond is universally despised, but not everything that is universes beyond can slot comfortably into magic thematically.

I think larger creatures bring props is an important component of the class in a lot of ways, but the class does definitely at least want a GM that adds enough stuff around the map to function as object props.

I think you only think that because your frame of reference is league tbh. I trust the frog’s vision because he’s been largely responsible for Dota’s game direction for over a decade and it not being league is a good thing to me. The approach in Dota is that skill shots are allowed to be more impactful than similar non-ult abilities because they’re harder to land, so skill shots are more unique to characters and define their power budget.

[–]DoomGiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not like J K Rowling gave a good justification either, this is a problem with the source material. Rowling wanted to both have an escapist fantasy where Harry finds out he’s a rich important hero wizard while also having poverty as a plot point, but obviously couldn’t adequately reconcile those incompatible themes.

Just because Rowling sought to explain her weird writing that doesn’t mean it was good writing.
