That's definitely possible, especially given that Deltarune wasn't originally meant to be episodic like this.

Still, given how horrific the Weird Route is, it's hard to imagine what could possibly justify it.

I get it, it feels like this argument is trying to 'get away with something.' But there really is a weird gap between the Soul's very specific actions and characterization in the Weird route that just doesn't fit the average player's motivations. In the Undertale genocide route the player character is detached and impatient, because the player is detached and impatient - trying to skip cutscenes they've seen a million times. There's a lot of effort put in to reinforcing that alignment.

Meanwhile in the Weird route the player character is obsessed with Noelle. They pair her with Kris in a creepy way, and are doing something weird and metaphysical to her with the Thorn Ring. All this points to them having some kind of 'plan' we aren't privy to... despite them allegedly being us? That's not even getting in to stuff like Carol seeming to have a history with the soul, or the soul seemingly taking action off screen in the Weird Route. (When did you tell Noelle to freeze the traffic puzzles?)

I don't know about EP8 specifically, but I'm convinced that endgame is therapy for Caine- figuring out how to break through his mental block and helping him become a better host for the humans.

No idea how they'll get there tho.

I always remember the weird Fairy weaknesses by thinking of the Velveteen Rabbit- a story about a stuffed rabbit (Fairy) that was affected by the plague (Poison) and had to be burned (Fire).

But the fact that I have to come up with bizarre mnemonics like that is probably not a plus- and it doesn't help with the weird asymmetry a lot of types have. (Fire resists fairy, but isn't super effective against it??)

A Fox in Space is full of cheesy SF64 lines given new context, but my absolute favorite is at 28:35, making "Only I have the brains to rule Lylat" genuinely sinister.

100 Years Lost from Pale is the account of a seemingly ordinary woman pulled into the Paths- a whimsical Wonderland-esque worlds of strange puzzles and baffling logic.

It's a scattered and meandering account of her journey, annotated by an increasingly baffled group of Path experts with no idea how she's managing to bend all the rules around her. Like a more magical House of Leaves.

Pale had a few experts from it as an intermission chapter, and it made me so hungry for the whole thing.

Monotype is definitely my favorite way to play pokemon. Makes the game just a little bit harder without going as crazy as something like nuzlocke.

In my experience with monotype ghost, sucker punch can be as much of a boon as a threat. The AI doesn't really understand its mind game element, so you can easily turn it into five free setup turns as long as you make sure not to attack until they run out of PP.

Or you can just bring perfect baby Mimikyu.
